Matteo Posted April 20, 2016 Share Posted April 20, 2016 So I purchased a Reef Angel Plus used on this forum not really knowing much about them at all except that I needed an ATO. As soon as I received it I was a little overwhelmed with what goes where and when googling I saw that this needed to be programmed to your liking which freaked me out a bit. However after a little plug and play and research I found that the Reef Angel Wizard setup that you can download made everything sooooo easy. That being said, for the price and all the Reef Angel can do it is a no brainier for a DIY person like myself. I know everyone swears by APEX but personally with how changeable this thing is with a little coding and modding the options are limitless. I use it to control all my pumps and filtration which makes feeding and water changes easy. I also have it programmed so my wave maker turns off when lights turn off so night time is nice and calm. I also have this as my ATO and man does it keep my water at perfect salinity. The float valve is nice and sensitive so the smallest amount evap cause the ATO pump to go. Along with that I have my 300 watt heater set to the highest temp but it is controlled also by simply programming one of the outlets so it turns off when the temp exceeds where I want it to along with turn when it is needed as well. Every time I have glanced at my temp it is always in a .2 ranged. My one complaint on the Reef Angel is when you start looking at expansions those can start to add up. However I justify this with every time you buy an expansion you obviously are stepping up your reef game if you need another piece of hardware controlled. All in all I think it is a great controller for the price! Once again there is strong hold for APEX on this forum but I definitely would say do not knock a Reef Angel just yet. Link to comment

sprite Posted April 30, 2016 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Yeah to me it is.. I never touch the controller now. You can turn each outlet on it off, go into feeding mode, water change mode, set temp alarms, see your stats that's displayed on the controller screen, ect Link to comment
