CronicReefer
Tuxedo urchins (not a snail I know) leave the rocks almost white behind them and they decorate themselves with shells and stuff from your aquarium. One of mine wears a ricordea florida for his hat . Otherwise banded trochus and mexican turbos will eat all the algae (especially turf algaes) but nothing will leave the rocks as clean as an urchin. xHereFishyFishyFishyx
My turbo snail was introduced into my tank about 3 weeks ago when I had a decent size diatom bloom going on. Within just a day or so it was all gone except for a few spots in the corners on the sand bed. I only have a 6 gallon right now though so that might not be impressive...but he goes to town. Even on the sand bed and glass! Maybe a couple/few of those would help. Link to comment

tetraodon
i have two blue tuxedo urchins in my tank, i banished my larger one because of a problem, but they are awesome for cleaning rock. the blue tux are non-venomous and can be handled safely. my biggest is between a golf ball and billiards ball in size. my small one about the size of a quarter. in addtion i have astra snails, a couple nassarus, a fighting conch, and a bunch of small limpets and chitins. CronicReefer
lol did it catch you by surprise at all? Yeah it was unexpected but not painful at all. I prefer the blue tuxedos as they stay small compared to other urchins (5" max diameter) and they are so much nicer looking than the boring black spine or pencil urchins. Link to comment
CronicReefer
ive been thinking about a tuxedo urchin, can you touch them? Lol One of my tuxedos and his pimp hat . They decorate themselves with lose bits of rock/shells usually but the coral doesn't seem to mind at all, been wearing it for a few weeks now. Link to comment

Tamberav
mine were some bums who just kept dying lol ive ordered from John before great guy just wanted a general consensus from the community Strange, they shouldn't die! I use nerites, cerniths, tronchus, mexican turbos, collonista, keyhole snail, batman snail, nano conches, and stomatellas. Also an urchin. Tank is definitely spotless! My favorites are tronchus, nano conches, and smomatellas because they breed in the tank. collonista will too but they breed out of control if you have too much algae or not enough competition. Batmans breed as well but I only have one. Link to comment
Alexraptor
I am personally quite fond of Trochus snails, as they ship with a solid Hermit-Avoidance System. Link to comment
ReefWeeds
I love my dwarf ceriths - and they breed so I have a good constant supply going in my tank. But I also am a huge fan of banded trochus, virgin nerites (not the regular nerites), astreas and mexican turbos. Mexican turbos can get quite large and with both the turbos and the banded trochus, you need to make sure your frags are glued down really well otherwise they'll get knocked off for sure Link to comment
