Hammerstone
I am getting worried that one of my RFAs isn't eating. It's been about a week since I got them. Or maybe two weeks. He lets the food just fly away after he maneuvered it away. The other one seems to be growing already. Should i be worried? I have tried mysis, the other one even grabs flakes that go by. Guess it's time to get a raw shrimp and razor blade it. I know they are also photosynthetic but I want him to eat!!! Link to comment
FlowerMama
I didn't feed mine for 2 mos straight when I had cyanodinodamnitall, trying to correct that situation. Not that I'd suggest it but they looked no different. Just saying that to tell you it'll probably be okay. Mine loved jumbo mysis and LRS frozen foods because one pack has such diversity in it- squid, clam, fish, shrimp, crab, etc. Are you putting it on its tentacles and letting them roll it up? Try some pellets too. Link to comment
Hammerstone
I have been putting it in the tentacles, but tonight I was worried and tried Dropping it in the center where the mouth is to no avail. It wiggles and has a closed mouth and everything so I think it's still healthy. With the way the other one eats it had me very worried. She's a pig! Thank you for talking to me!!!? Link to comment
FlowerMama
Defense mechanism, if it can't feel it with its tentacles, it may even have that shock reaction of hiding under the sand. It doesn't know what it is when it hits their mouth so they won't usually accept it. Link to comment
jamescstein
For what its worth I don't spot feed my RFA's anymore. I broadcast feed the tank with my RW-4 running and the return pump off. I let things stew for 30-60 minutes. Link to comment
