ORA Electric Indigo Dottyback Observations

I purchased an ORA P. fridmani x P. sankeyi hybrid about 8 weeks ago. There wasn't much info available on them when I was researching, so I am going to note my observations here.

They are an absolutely beautiful fish, but mine is not the solid blue on top that the ORA sample image shows. He shifts between an almost white and a brilliant pearly deep blue.

For the first few days in a new tank (move into QT then move into DT) mine was skittish and reclusive, but once he settled in he became very out going. Now when I'm inspecting the tank with a magnifying glass he swims right up to the glass and stares at me. Probably waiting for food.

It is probably more a function of im being tank raised, but he eats anything and everything. Frozen, pellets, flakes, pods. He does NOT eat bristleworms like I was hoping he would though. He has pecked at a few, but I've never seen him actually consume one. Hopefully he will someday.

This fish is a major sand mover. He dens underneath a rock by burrowing through the sand. He digs constantly. My daughter has named him Mr. Diggy Holes and it fits :). He also dug both front corners of the tank out to the bottom glass, then filled one side back up with sand from under his burrow rock.

He shares the tank with two cinnamon clownfish, A. melanopus and there is a certain amount of aggression, but nothing too violent. He mostly makes sure they are aware that they can't be hanging to close to his burrow.

That's it for now. If anything else interesting comes up I will add.

do you have any pictures you can share?

There are a couple in my tank thread, but nothing quality. I don't have a decent camera, just cell phone. He doesn't like to sit still for pictures.

Here are some other crappy cellphone pics. They don't really do the colors justice, especially the middle black band and the top blue. They show much better in person.
