my female clown fish keeps nipping my duncans, i have 3 heads attached together and like 4 baby heads coming out. the duncans have been in the tank for about 3 months. i feed the tank once a day pellets, mysis 2ce a week. i have a long tip anemone which they host and also a bubble tip.. any suggestion on how to fix this issue?

I don't have an answer, but I'm tagging along just in case anyone does. My clowns do the same thing, the female more than the male and it really bothers the coral, but I almost think mine are starting to show nesting behaviors?!

Clowns generally do this before they are hosted by whatever they are nipping. They usually do this to become immune to the hosts sting. I wouldn't be suprised if they moved in to the Duncan as well.

My clownfish did this before moving in to my duncan as well

i just dnt want the duncans dyeing on me now lol after so long of keeping and growing seeing them tucked in just kills me lol... i will start feeding a little more well atleast 2ce a day very small amounts and mysis atleast 2 times a week. i ended up taking a plastic solo cup making a couple of holes and isolating the duncans until they open up again

My male clown nips the sweepers of a maze brain coral, and then twitches and dances. It must be spicy!

They're never going to host that brain, I'm sure.

Ima use this move for when I need a bump. lol It would be pretty neat if it hosts the clown. I always see clowns doing this at LFS

Mine hosted in a brain until it killed it (the fish killed the brain that is) Something about the constant rubbing of the soft tissue against the hard skeleton). Duncan have longer tentacles so shouldn't be as much of an issue.

Ttttttttt!!!!!

Sorry, But what is this?

It's a combination of "ttt" and extra t's probably to fit a minimum character count the forum probably has. ttt means "To The Top". It's similar to a "bump", except that bumping a thread is usually done to prevent it from falling off the first page in a fast moving forum, and also stands for "Bringing Up My Posts" (Or Post-Count).
