ml86743
And so it begins...Another underwater adventure! I've learned so much over the past few years about the hobby and I have some big plans for this new tank. Everything from the IM 40 and 10 will be moved over. I picked up the Nyos Quantum 120 and boy...it's quiet and efficient. Amazing skimmer so far...I will be using my Nanobox ATI Retro for lighting. This is my first experience with a sump and I already love it...I will never own another AIO haha...well, wish me luck:) Hopefully I'll provide you all with some quality documentation and photography. ml86743
right! Haha love the dims of this tank tho so hopefully may comes fast lol Agreed Before I left, I hung the ATI retro over the tank...after the power up I guess I shorted the cooling fan...anyone know where I can find a replacement model? The unit looks BA over the tank though... These guys are patiently awaiting their transfer. 20160329_155726-1 by Ty D, on Flickr I have some concerns though...In the IM 10 I have a clown who is a female I believe and I worry about mixing my other pair and her..They have their own hosts and I was going to attempt to have them on opposite sides of the tank..Risky business I tell ya' Link to comment

Benny314
I successfully integrated a juvenile male clown with an existing male female pair, there was a little bullying to start with but the little juvi soon fitted in and they all hung out together. Mixing 2 females though may not go so well. In theory with 2 hosts opposite ends of a tank that size with an aquascape that prevents line of sight you might be ok, but it'll be sods law the 2 host nems walk and decide to sit next to each other. When i eventually move the live stock ill be monitoring pretty much all day...if they look like they will kill one another ill take them out. If I wasn't trying to break down two tanks into one I wouldn't even worry about it. Just trying to make things a little easier for my mom while I'm away at school. Worst case the solo clown gets banished to the sump so much awesome!! I thought about doing just clownfish and bubble tips and long tip anemones lol it would be awesome, there would be a lot of actionYeah that would be really neat...an entire tank dedicated to clowns and nems something I would like to eventually do. ml86743
hell yea would be legit! Lol what fish are you planning for this? Well, I'm going to transfer my clown pair, cardinal, YWG, mandarin, firefish and jawfish pair(IM 40) and hopefully the single clown and randalls goby(IM 10), I plan on putting the randalls and his shrimp buddy in a nice DSB in the sump, that way they have their own section and don't have to compete with the jawfish. Again, I'm real worried about these clowns getting along together... Other than that I'm thinking a dwarf angel or some schooling fish. Not really sure...I'm open to suggestions its just so hard cause I love all the fishes:) Hawkfish would be neat too.. Link to comment
ml86743
Quick question about light intensity, I ran the Retro at about 85-95% over the 40. I was going to drop it down to 50% for this tank and bump it up about 5% every week. That seem feasible to you guys? Or should I start lower given the dimensions. I'm only working with 12 inches of height for the new setup, compared to the 20+ inches from before. Maybe I should even leave the settings lower for the final result 65-75%? Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated. Link to comment

Ill be right around there, the chromis was my top option for schooling fish..But I also like the blue eyed cardinals. Such a tough call..Id consider a wrasse but I have no luck with them. They're either huge D-bags or jumpers. I like angels for their color and activity..who knows. Link to comment

Once the jawfish settle in they usually get pretty comfortable with their tank mtes...My female clown in the pair bullied the hell out of my firefish, to the point where she would never come out(reason for the breeder net). Ill just have to focus on the transfer first haha.. Also gonna try a new WC routine..5 gallons four times a week. cool build, following along Thanks very much, cant wait to get the ball rolling and move my stuff over. Great tank! ml86743
Permanently. I've always been a believer in a good WC routine..IMO coupled with the Nyos it should be good nutrient removal, plus replenish elements and keep things like Alk and pH a litte more stable. Link to comment

Plus, I'm gonna hit the bio-load pretty hard when I move everything over...I know the system wont be ready for all that at once. In other news...going to see Pearl Jam in two weeks in Jax! SO PUMPED.
