APUreefer1989
As I've started a tank journal I've been posting a fair share of pictures but as of right now I have nothing for a camera that takes very nice pictures. Just a phone and a very inexpensive point and shoot. I took a digital photography class 6 years ago, but I know very little about cameras. Any suggestions for a camera to take some better quality pictures? I'd say I don't want to go any higher then $300 for right now, if that's even possible. Definitely want to get some higher quality pictures on my thread, Let me know your ideas! Link to comment
LeCharlesMuhDickens
I'd buy used, you can find some killer deals on very nice equipment. $300 in the used market will get you a decent setup. Link to comment

Try Keh.com. If you can swing the $300 for a body alone, you can get a nice old prime lens (50mm) on a budget for less than $100. Spend money on glass more so than on body. Link to comment

Yep, I think I paid $60 used for my "nifty fifty" and it's the lens I use the most. Even attached to a beater rebel xti body, I get some nice shots. Link to comment

On a cropped sensor, I personally prefer the 35mm for day to day. I tend to shoot with a lot of primes and have a 24 2.8, 35 1.4, 50 1.4, 58 1.2, 90 2.8 (macro) and a 135 1.8 CZ. As you can see, primes are very addicting Link to comment
