Fusion 20 Return Pump

I just set up my Fusion 20 with the stock pump and its super loud. I tired to hang it without the cups and made sure it isnt touching anything still no luck. What are your suggestions on a super quiet pump that will work/fit in the rear chamber. Im running a Rw4 in the display for more flow also. Im willing to sacrifice GPH for Quietness.

Thanks

I had the same issue and found that the pump was not stuck in place with the suction cup mount. I reattached the mount and it's much quieter . I can still hear a light hum but it's much better. I also have the rw4. What a great little wave maker . I m running it on low because it really gets cranking and becomes too much motion.

I replaced both the return pumps in my JBJ 28g with Cobalt 900's, super silent now. I would say any Cobalt pump that has as good or better flow than stock and will fit in your return area would be a decent choice. Warning, do not get the MarineLand versions of these pumps, much cheaper and I found out why.

I ended up using the Cobalt MJ900 myself which was way better than stock and way quieter. I have parted ways with this tank and started a Fusion 10 again.

Now my stock fusion 10 pump is quiet but blows micro bubbles into the Display. -_-

Waterfall into your return chamber creating bubbles that your pump sucks up, most likely.

the water level on the return chamber is only 1/2" from the second

I even filled it so it sits even to test it out.

Doesn't take much, if you can see bubbles at the top where it flows into the return chamber there's a good chance the suction of the pump is pulling some of those bubbles down to the pump intake. The pump itself cannot make micro-bubbles unless it is getting fed air from somewhere.

Are there bubbles spilling over into the return chamber, maybe being created somewhere else in the AIO. Unless there is a large air pocket trapped down near the pump I can't think of any other way it would be making microbubbles. Can't make the bubbles with out some sort of air input.

Jebao makes a DC2000. The pump is dead quiet, its tiny, and has variable speeds. $47 from China. ( Fishstreet ) I think shipping was less the $10. I dont know why this pump is not readily available here. Best small pump I have ever bought! They also have a DC1200. Both would be overkill for your new 10 but they would have worked in you 20.

I finally figured out the micro bubbles. I got IM to send me a new nozzle and return hose and replaced it.

No more micro bubbles

:)
