Aquacultured rock

Hello everyone,

I am setting up a 10 gallon nuvo fusion tank. Should be here monday along with the heater, light, live sand, powerhead and everything else i ordered.

I was looking to get some cool life rock to the tank and came across Aquacultured live rock from KpAquatics. Heres the link to what i was looking at, more specifically the nano package, 10lbs for $65 with free shipping. http://www.kpaquatics.com/product/live-rock-aquacultured/

My question is this,

Since the rock is shipped priority mail, 2-3 days, will everything that will be covering the rock survive that long? I think it would be cool to get these rocks covered with all sorts of living species (corals, sponges, shrimp, etc..) I thought thats why most companies ship next day? Also, would it be okay to order the rock on monday, the same day i set up my tank? I figured by the time it gets to me that the tank will clear up and be ready to introduce some live rock.

Sorry for the basic question, just beginning to dabble into the live stock part of saltwater.

Currently i only have a 16 gallon tank with dry rock, fish, anemones, shrimp, crabs, etc..

Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Quinton

Since we're not dealing with severe winter or summer weather right now I think 2-3 days should be okay - IF KP Aquatics packs their live rock in bags full of water. I've never ordered from KP so I do not know if they ship in bags full of water... or simply wrap their rock in wet newspaper (which I've heard some places do).

That said, I've seen quite a few people here, and on other forums, say a lot of good things about KP Aquatics. Why not shoot them an email or give them a call and ask them? They'll know better than anyone else - after all, aqua-cultured liverock is what they do.
