So, I have a 14 gallon with a Pink Spot Goby with an Unidentified Pistol Shrimp and a Yellowtail damsel (both are 1.5 yrs old) and a tube anemone of about 7 months. I've been following Yoshiis Macro tank

and have been inspired to a new level. So, the tank is really simple, drilled NanoCube 14g with a small 5 gallon sump with live rock. Lighting is provided by a 9 inch Blade LED system with daylights and Blues running for about 5 hours a day. With the Macros, I would probably just run the daylights for probably around 6-7 hours and dose all the needed stuff. Tank is kept roughly around 76-78 degrees w/ no heater. Live-Plants.com is definitely going to be my source for most of them and will be purchasing several sample packs of reds and greens alike. I will be keeping the tube as i really like him and based on Yoshii's tank, they look pretty good in a macro tank. I would give my fish to my lfs as I would rather them live in a better reef system than a macro tank. Stocking would include small gobies (green lined, neon, red spotted) with plenty of interesting inverts such as a crinoid squat lobster, porcelain crabs and maybe a few sexy shrimp. I look forward to this build and will begin on Friday when i go on Spring Break

Pic on the left was taken several months ago when was still using older clip on lights, rocks now have lots of color and the rockscape is different

The macro will benefit from the blue light too.

Macro's like fish poop and fish love the macro as it provides natural hiding spots and tons of live food (pods). They are no better in a reef system, unless you mean you want to get different fish.

Macro's are awesome, I had a dedicated macro tank at one time and now have a 20g display refugium with many different macros.

Yeah, I want different fish, small gobies preferably and maybe a small filefish, I have successfully kept 2 before and they were really fun to watch
