Glauber Carvalho
Hi Guys, I am brazilian, please, forgive me all my writing erros. I realy enjoy the reef tanks we see in "nano-reef.com". This was my first aquarium experience. I read and read thousands of pages and informatios, to do it! I was anxiou and happy! In the first month, while cycling, all new experience was wonderful! The crabs, algaes, one or two resistant corals, even the smell of the sea, all was incredible! 02/03/2017 - The Tank Reborn! I live 120km away from the sea. So thats why this is my "Window Reef"! I made some changes, but it last look was like this: The Tank I married two years ago, and I still don't have money to buy all the things I want! So I used this 2 gallons aquarium to make my reef. The first thing I did was putting a background ! A Photo that I choosed, behind the glass. It was in the sides too, but I just let it in the background. I started this in January 2016. my wife was going crazy... Because I was doing it over our dinning table... (Childs, don't do it at home ) February 2016 Equipaments I'm used an external 120 l/h filter (with in acrylic wool, sponge, activated carbon, ceramics), and a 6500k, 9w Led lamp. Inhabitants My Green mini ermit crabs A Turbo Snail (that was here since the first day. My strong one). I don't know how this Bathygobius soporator came here (I think that with some small rocks in my pocket... crazy). He changes colors almost like a chameleon lizard. Today, after 3 months, we're best friends. I put him in another aquarium these days, and I'm thinking on give my friend's freedom again... "It's time to say good bye, Bro..." A Euphillya Paradivisa (Frog). It loose almost all the zooxanthellaes in the travel. There are Cloves coral and siderastrea stellata behind them. Some little brittlestars. And the red macro-algae, that are going good here! There were another algae since the beggining too, but these are the warriors algae! The last photo I shot before cleanning the filter: March 2016 (I Built a cave behind the cloves coral) Details I started it with live rocks and natural sea water. And I do 10% to 20% weekly water changes with natural marine water. Every day I have to replace water level. I'll show any news! Any comments or suggestions, friends? 4 Quote Link to comment
brandon429
It's 100% good job for these reasons Your full tank shot looks like it's from an all in one pico reef kit, balanced lighting strong corals and no algae take overs, just nice colors reds and greens all in balance The quality of the live rock and macro is really sharp and you assembled items well Bravo. 1 Quote Link to comment
Glauber Carvalho
This month I put some new friends. I got just one Yellow Polyp, but I think it already growing, becoming two... And so it goes! and the macro algaes are growing. I had to cut one, because it was growing fast. Look in this rock, this was not there! I like it. And the Frog gets a little bit better. Today I saw another mini ophiurus under a small rock. I really enjoy them. They're cute. My wife don't think so! 2 Quote Link to comment
Anden
Nice it looks good, but i dont think the fish will like the "freedom" your talking about in the sea big fish eat small fish and no human to feed the small fish. 1 Quote Link to comment
Glauber Carvalho
Yeah, Anden! That's a truth! Quote Link to comment

Glauber Carvalho
Thank you, Elizabeth! I had to change all the landscape these days to take off the pistol shrimp (because it was doing a BIG mess in the substract, and I loose my mush and a cloves frag in the holes that it maded!!!), but after some weeks I repent, and put it there again... I found it at the sea around here and I brought it home, somehow I feel like I'm responsible for this creature. It's a little cute, and it become friendly to a stick that I use to feed it (not the one in the gif kkkkk! The other one!)! Quote Link to comment

Glauber Carvalho
Yeah, there are lots of kinds of macros algaes. It is just horrible when it does like this: But, please, let me show friends some others things that I enjoy here. It is not in every beach the Algaes do that. Next to that one, there are beachs like these here: (These are my favorite vacation destinations!) And some fishes we can find around, and we can legally catch: Queen Angelfish French Angelfish Rock Beauty Angelfish Brazilian Damsel Atlantic ou Caribean Blue Tang Miricts Golden Moray Eel There are condylacts giganteas and carpet anemones, stenopus shrimps, octopuses, red, blue and gray starfishes and brittlestars, and lots cool things. I would like to have an aquarium where I can put these angelfishs someday! 1 Quote Link to comment

Glauber Carvalho
So... I've not written here these days, cause I had a lot of things to do in the aquarium. I loose almost all my corals. I had to travel in january, and my family turned off the aquarium power for 10 days. The filter, the lights, the water pump, all was turned off, and in the darkness, my corals died. Montiporas frags - all dead 6 to 10 xenias - all dead Zoanthus frags - all dead My Frogspawn - half dead Cloves big colony - all dead Big Mushs - all dead big Ricordeas - All dead A GSP rock - all dead 1 turbo - dead The water was stinking, yelow colored and viscous. Palythoas survived and half of a Frog. The fish survived too (This was a miracle). Wen I came home... I lots of work. TPA, then I had to fight with algae outbreak, ciano outbreak, ictio outbreak... 1 Quote Link to comment
