What to test for?

JCase

Recommended Posts

Setting up a Biocube 29, been up and running for about 3 weeks.

I have the API Saltwater Master test kit. In my research it seems the API kits are not so good.

What additional test kits would be good to get?

Thanks

No "at home" test kit is going to be much better in terms of accuracy. Precision maybe so. My personal recommendation would be to just make sure the ammonia and nitrite are undetectable before you add fish. pH, Ca, Mg, and alk will be helpful as you begin to add corals but are most likely fine as long as you do a 10-20% water change at least monthly until the bioload and ion uptake increases.
