My biocube diy aquatic life 115 skimmer stand

So I was not happy with any of the mounting methods I found for the aquatic life 115 skimmer for chamber 1 of the biocube. Instead of giving up on it I decided to see if I could make it work.

 

Here is my diy egg crate stand

 

The stand measures 3.5 x 3.5 since that's all the first chamber will allow. It is just above 7 inches in height. The overall height with the skimmer ( measured to the top of the skimmer body not the cup ) is 14.5 inches.

This stand is super solid and does not extend out any further then the skimmer since space is tight. Only thing left to do is adjust the skimmer height but with all my measuring I should be spot on.

 

Hope this helps other people get this skimmer into chamber 1.
