Unleveled 20 Gallon Long Tank

Hey guys,

I have a 20 gallon long tank that has been up for about 2 weeks now. After setting it up, I noticed the water level is not leveled. I just read somewhere that having a tank that is not leveled can one day cause the tank to break. I also read that for a 20 gallon long nano tank, it shouldn't be a problem. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Make it level. It is always a risk and an unnecessary one - sure a 20L doesnt have that much water but the glass is usually thinner than say a 180g. It can cause problems at any size and tjyere is no reason for t unless one is lazy and not willing to make it level. The best option is to level the stand or whatever the tank is using shims or something. Or get a foam pad that will allow the tank to settle in and become level.

Depends on how much it is off. I wouldn't stress about it. With all the water movement the pressure isn't steady on any one pane anyways.

BUTTT it is only 20 gallons. Do a big water change and level it out. We aren't talking 80 gallons.

my 15g after 11 months started leaking... no idea why. It was on a kitchen counter. I put foam under my 40b so it can flex as it needs to. Yours might be fine as is, but I wanted to eliminate that variable

It doesn't matter much how level the stand is, but that the surface that the tank is sitting on is PLANE. If the surface the tank is sitting on is not plane, i.e. like a pringles chip, then you might have troubles. Your stand may be plane, and out of level, which would be fine.
