Ivery
Aqua smart micro ato or Tunze Nano ato ?? Link to comment
shaner014
Never used the Tunze. Love my Autoaqua. It's, well, perfect. (Perfect, well no. The light in the sensor is annoyingly bright. But yes, perfect otherwise.) Link to comment
Ivery
Are the magnets weak? Link to comment
shaner014
Are the magnets weak? They aren't crazy strong, but I'd say adequate. The tubing that returns the water does better if you heat it slightly with a blow dryer and manipulate it how you want it. Out of the box the tight coil of the tubing can pull on the mount. Hecdr34
+1 on the Micro. I will never buy another Tunze again. Link to comment
ReefWeeds
I haven't tried the Aqua Smart but I did have a Tunze Nano. I'd not get one again if that is any indication. I wasn't a fan. The pumps are loud and I had a few problems with the pumps going bad as well as the sensor going bad. Since it was under warranty, tunze replaced both, but the whole thing was a headache. Tamberav
3155 tunze is great but the nano is meh, they dropped the ball on that one. The smart ATO was okay, the water changes and alarm procedure was annoying. I ordered the micro (not here yet) anyways, mostly cuz I needed something small. Link to comment

Nano is meh; one snail or stuck float and it'll flood. The 3155 is super reliable, but that alarm is annoying and that it dumps water whenever power cycles. Link to comment

My 3155 is on a large tank so the power dump isn't a huge deal, my guess is it isn't made for tiny tanks because those magnet holders are huge. I think if they took the 3155 and made the mounts small and fixed the issue of the water dump on cycle, it would be pretty close. Link to comment

CrazyEyes
I've never owned the aqua smart, I remember seeing something about the magnets rusting. I didn't really like the tunze for the fact that it would run for about 5-10 after turning it back on, enough to fill up a 20oz water bottle, which is annoying on a smaller tank. I've heard a lot of great things about the avast ones. Link to comment
