A couple quesitons about Firefish

I picked one up for my 10 gallon, I have been wanting them for a while and I got a few questions that might be more bettered answer by firefish owners.

Flow:

I am putting the fish into 10 gallon with a Hydor 240. Its introduced to the tank and seems to be okay with it - IF I am using the return pump only. As soon as the Hydor is on, the fish is on teh ground, behind some zoanthids hanging on for dear life. I only really have the pump in for the gorgonian... and well I feel the flow is healthy. Sadly there is no way to slow the flow down. Unless I choked the flow in/out

alternatively, I could put the pump on a timer and have it flowing at night when teh fish is taking its sleep. this might allow me both benefits, flow to circulate out dead spots.

Thoughts?

Group:

I bought one, but they had a large group swimming together. Should I return to get one more? I understand they fight more within a species than outside of species. I know with Siamese fighting fish you can generally house sisters together, (I have) or group females in 5's two will fight, three will have two gang up on one and four will pair off and fight and 5 seem to be magic. I don't want five could I get away with two total - from a group?

Not sure about flow but but I have 2 in my 90g and they seem to enjoy each other's company. They stick together despite having more than enough room to have separate territories. Not sure if they would be lonely as a single one but they are cute together.

Firefish generally pair off pretty well. And they are excellent swimmers so your flow shouldn't be an issue it may just need a lower flow spot to relax in from time to time. They do like to have a little cave to hang out in as well and for sleeping.

This. My firefish loves the flow but retreats to his cave occasionally.
