Being semi local I'd love to order from you guys, you have an awesome selection. Can you explain to me why there's such a difference in cost between shipping options? It says I qualify for "zone 1" but only if I have the items shipped to the ups customer service center. If I ship to my door, the price almost triples.

We offer Zone 1 shipping as a lower cost to folks close to us, UPS Zone 1 from us is based on zip code, those packages are shipped via UPS Ground and are guaranteed delivery by end of next day so we ask folks to pick up at UPS center so it doesn't ride on truck all day in winter. UPS Air is guaranteed delivery by 10:30 next day and is substantially more expensive for us. We subsidize the cost of shipping and have a flat rate for everyone regardless of package size or weight or location. We also offer our Better Than Free Shipping program, automated on our site when you order online, giving free money back based upon how much you spend, the more you spend the more you get back to the point of getting more back than you pay for shipping.
