Any opinions on these?

I'm looking for something that can 'ramp up and down' the light gradually for my Red Sea Reefer Nano which is 18x18x18"

Stock would be very basic since its a small tank, something like a couple of LPS, debating SPS and maybe sometime down the track an anemone for the pair of clownfish.

list in price order...massive difference I know...from $130 to $400

Current USA Orbit Marine

AI Prime

Kessil A160

Radion xr15w (is this too excessive)

No Apex controllers or anything like that..........not sure what will happen if I keep reading these forums though

I would go with the AI Prime. I have tried all Prime, Hyrda 26, Kessil 350, and currently Radion XR30W Pro.

The best value is with the Prime especially with their amazing wifi control (iOS and Android app).

The Kessil A160 produce the best shimmer, but you will need to spend another $100 for the controller.

Even then you wouldn't be able to set the control as extensively as the Prime.

Rather than Radion XR15W, try the new Hydra 26 HD. The lights are as nice and much easier to control via the apps.

And you will get better coverage compared to the Radion XR15W.

thanks, I'll have a look into it.

As far as I can see from this side of the world, I still need to get the mount even for the AI Prime. I'll only need 1 for the Nano (18") right?

Yes, the Prime mount is pretty good. Will fit nicely on the Reefer Nano.

I was using it on a 45cm rimless cube and the single prime covers it nicely.

My tank was filled with LPS and Anemone and some SPS (put on the top part).

The SPS is ok, as long as the light is set at higher power.

For starter light I think the prime is more than enough.

Once you have more demanding SPS, then start looking for the Hydra 25 HD.
