ajmckay
I love all the awesome FTS people post. Browsing them is always a great way to stimulate my own creative juices. But I assume most of us incorporate our reefs into a room, right? Presumably one that gets used normally? This thread is to show off our reef tanks (or any other tank) along with the room it's in. Here's mine. Obviously I'm hoping to get some ideas of cool, possibly reef themed decorations I can add. *note I still need to trim down the black bar behind the tank (holds the light). Sunstar
my desk is a cluster ####, so I probably won't post a FTS with desk... But imagine, Warhammer, and Transformers :3 Link to comment

I love this idea! Here is my new set-up. Tank is ready but I haven't had the time to switch over my livestock - Babies keep you busy!!! Still doing some set-up(shhhh ignore my cables!) BRS reactor is up and running and my LED box is out of the garage so I can build my custom moonlights I wouldn't call it "reef themed" but.... Behold! Nicolas Cage in all his glory watching over my reef!! Link to comment

But imagine, Warhammer, and Transformers :3 Actually some desk shots would be awesome. Sooo- is that really Nick Cage? If so that's awesome. I'm pretty sure my wife would be pissed if I hung something like that though. It would probably be in the trash the next day. Tonight I'll clean up my "fish corner" in the basement and post a pic tomorrow. Link to comment

It's just so crazy and awesome, I'm a sucker for weird and obscure things. Especially if they are subtle. Lol kinda hard to explain! I'm getting Bill Murray next, maybe finish the set with Samuel L. Jackson. My wife puts up with my outlandish tastes. Though she was not happy when I got it professionally framed. Not cheap but IMO it makes the picture and without the fram it just would not be as good. Come on everyone, lets see that Reef Room Décor! Link to comment
TFish77
Tried to get some shots of everything as a whole. My main tanks are in my bedroom here. The 20 on the left and the 2.5 on the right. There is a FW planted and a FW display in the living room as well. The 2.5g The view from where I sleep :-) (Grant it the light is off when I sleep lol) Where the magic happens BABY! (Don't ever tell anybody you can repair anything) And a couple FTS' for good measure. Link to comment

If this is DIY then its awesome. Actually no matter what it is it's awesome lol. My future dream is to build a stand like yours in a dresser and incorporate a sump into one of the drawers... One day! ajmckay
Thanks for the compliments on the stand! It's a DIY for sure. You can't see it but underneath is another storage section with a 10g ATO reservoir that pulls out on drawer slides for easy re-filling!!! That and a bunch of other crap down there... There's actually 2 10g tanks (one was originally going to be a QT). Anyways, I love your space! I grew up with a 29g FW in my bedroom but my wife doesn't want a tank in the bedroom so probably won't again. But I would love to set it up so that the light is just coming on as my alarm is going off and I could just sit in bed for a few minutes and watch them swim around - that would be awesome. Also liking the shop/office/random fish stuff area! Link to comment

ReefWeeds
Here's my tank in my kitchen. We had a section that pretty much was just dead space so why not put a tank there? Link to comment
dandelion
Water jar on the left is my ATO reservoir. Bottles on the right are my dopamine reservoir Link to comment

LOL This is my living room.. but your couches are facing the wrong way !! very nice i like the explosion of light from your fish room... I'm sure neighbors have thought either extra terrestrials have landed or I'm growing something illegal in the basement with the light shining out at night- I'll get a room pic up here soon Link to comment

ajmckay
Nix, what a great place for a tank! If I had a tank on the counter next to my fridge I would be eating all the time. Yeah I would probably just sit there staring at the tank with the refrigerator door open and forgetting what I went into the fridge for in the first place... Wait I already do that (forget)! Stella, love the kitchen tank ! I think the green foliage around it really looks nice - as does the abstracty "fruit loops" art Dandelion, nice location as well - you can observe the tank and mix a drink at the same time! dmarkham, very nice colors in the room. Reminds me of my parents house - my mom likes American Indian art. The textured walls are also nice. Got Corals - agree with the others, couch facing the wrong way! Is the other room a garage or basement or another room? The tanks certainly command your attention. Stevie, bad ass show room as always - I think it's hilarious all the tanks are turned around - but obviously see the reasoning behind it. Umm, where did you get those little night stands? Those look nice. I've got a pretty healthy "glow" coming out of my front window at night as well - most of my neighbors know it's a reef but I bet most passers by stare at my front window for a second and come up with some theory on what it might be... Nixperience
Thanks AJ. I feel like the kitchen is the best place for me. I'm always in and out of the kitchen and am able to give the tank constant attention. I think if it was in any other room, it would t survive. Link to comment
lallen_74
Ours is in our living room, which is part of a combined living/dining/kitchen area. Along with Nix, I feel that the general kitchen area is the most frequented and therefore the best spot. If I add another tank it will probably be on the end of a custom island, and would be placed close to where I stood when I grabbed this shot. Link to comment
Nixperience
If you look at my counter space, I could fit another 12 inches easy. I'm going to work on my wife for a few months and then move into a 20 long. Link to comment
