HarryPotter
I ordered a skimmer box from member AcrylicFab here on NanoReef and was highly pleased- he's new here so I thought it would be nice to do a quick review/ shoutout. What can I say? Its a perfect little skimmer box. My AquaClear 70 surface skims. It used a suction cup rather than a magnet. But who needs that fancy magnet that can rust in your tank when a suction cup works? Its $27 shipped. Hard to beat that. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Looks well machined Yeah its pretty sweet! I will say that it is not "perfect"; if you look inside you can see some weld on or something. But honestly who cares. It surface skims, holds water, and the exterior is perfect, not much more to ask for. Link to comment
acrylicfab
For the very first prototye it turned out very good! Its hand made with a fine table saw but this is the first box i've made in about 6mo so im a little rusty on the weld-on skills. They got brushed up so if anyone is interested shoot me a PM and I can get you one ASAP! Link to comment

Honestly it worked creepily well. 24 hours after installing my bacterial bloom (been a couple weeks) went away. Hmm. Coincidence? Filthy tank that I can't see through to clear tank with happy corals. Odd. Link to comment
HarryPotter
As I bought the "beta" unit from AcrylicFab it had a few kinks, one being that during a water change it could fall since the box was waterproof and could not allow water to drain. However a quick hole drilled in the bottom corrected this, and I believe that AcrylicFab will be making a small hole in the bottom in future boxes Link to comment
Jato4x4
Can you post a pic of it now in the tank? So I can see the whole thing. I'm gonna order one for the 110 that's being delivered tomorrow. Glad to hear it helped with your tank. Link to comment
