LJMitchell87
Hello all! I'm really excited to get into maximizing my Apex. Here's a quick overview of my current setup:12x12x12 Rimless Cube (7.5g)10g DIY sump with 3 chamber design (skimmer, fuge, Mag5 Return)Tunze Osmolator Nano ATOTunze 9001 SkimmerNanoBox LED light (uses Bluefish app)MP10wQDLifeReef Overflow BoxNeoTherm 50w HeaterApex Junior with added PM1 pH module.Currently I feel like I'm only using my apex as a glorified thermometer and pH test. If you were in my shoes, where would you start? Link to comment
D3monic
I'm not sure on differences between the jr and the regular model. I have mine set up to turn moon lights on and off, dusk lights on and off, daylight on and off, shut down and alarm perimeters for daylight if temp reaches over 84 degrees. Don't remember if I get text or email alerts has never happened. Is yours plugged into a ethernet cable? The computer interface is so much easier to program than on the module. Doesn't seem like the feed cycle setting on mine works or I did something wrong. If you download the phone app you can control your outlets from your phone instead of on the computer or module. I haven't tried it with the apex but my old aqua controller jr could control x10 modules around the house. Not sure if this one uses X10 or not. I would put your heater on one the outlets, set exceptions to turn if on and off at certain temperatures in case the heater failed so you don't cook your tank. Did I mention with the apex app you can check your tank status while on the go or at work? See temperature, ph, turn lights on and off ect...or just stand at one side the house and impress your friends lol. There's so much more it can do that I haven't even delved into like plugging in floor water sensors so it shuts down pumps in the event water is detected. Email alerts if there's a power outage. ect ect ect. Link to comment
LJMitchell87
Yes, I currently have it hardwired to my router and have set up the browser utility and the app. I think one of the main things I want to do with it is control my ATO so I can use Kalk. I want to set it so that the ATO shuts off if the pH hits 8.5 or something, I just have no clue how to program that. Link to comment

Easy enough, but if the PH gives a falsely high reading or the Kalk is too concentrated you will then have no ATO and a very sad return pump Link to comment
LJMitchell87
Yeah, I mean I calibrated the pH probe with 7 and 10 calibrating solution and its currently low at 7.53, so I'm hoping this will work. I'd keep the kalk fairly diluted until I got a feel for it. Link to comment
D3monic
Nice According to page 25 of the owners manual x10 does work with the apex like it did with the older model. Looks like i'm going to order a few x10 modules so I can put the lights on my other tanks on the apex timer system. Link to comment
drexel
Head over to Neptune systems forums and you'll find all the programming help you'll need. Take time to read the manual (several times). Link to comment
