OK NOW I FEEL TERRIBLE

I have a new set up and it has two clowns an EVIL Six Line and I just added a cute tail spot Bennie. As soon as he was in the wrASSe went after him and bit him and I think left two holes in his neck. I am now afraid that my new tail spot is going to die. I tired the bottle trap which I've done before with a Bi color daddy back who was mean as hell as well. I tried but i fed them before so I'm hoping that was why it didnt work. Im going to try again first thing in the AM Im adding frozen mysis and Rods frozen shrimp a ton. letting it sit until he gets interested and enters. I just feel like he's way to smart to even get near it.. any suggestions I cannot take my rock work and tank apart for this MFer... please any help will be appreciated.

Thank you !

You could, you just don't want to. You could try putting a foot long, 1.5" PVC pipe in the tank, and either let the fish explore the pipe, or chase it into the pipe. Once inside, cover the ends with your hands and lift him out. However, I'm betting. you'll have to take the rocks out (to get him out).

You could use plastic tubing (like what you probably use for water changes) and suck him out and into a bucket. Just make sure your tubing is large enough for the fish to fit through and that you have water in the bucket for him to land in, maybe even a net to catch him so he's not thrown at a bucket wall. You can get the tubing at any hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot.

You should research your fish purchases, you keep having to replace fish. ;)

I would drain the tank and snatch him out, then refill.

Thank you but I didn't think he'd literlly bite my Bennie poor gu my now he's backed into a rock hole with his head sticking out only I'm trying the bottle trap but what could I use as bait that he will die to eat? Is the secret live brin shrimp? I thought he was semi aggressive not leaving literll vampire bites in my next fish.. I hope my Bennie doesn't die he's too nice ugh pain in my ars

I think it's pretty common on here to underestimate the sometimes brutal territoriality of many reef fishes..

In summary I don't think the sixline is evil because that behavior is pretty much in it's nature. It's not like that's an uncommon thing - google sixline wrasse and there are plenty of posts describing such behavior.

for a 16g you would probably have fewer aggression issues if you stuck with 3 fish... The sixline is probably fine with the clowns, or take the sixline out and keep the blenny instead.

+1 you'll likely have to take the rock apart to get it out. Sixlines will find a hole in the rock and dart into it wicked fast - not sure you could even use the PVC method. Or maybe go for the huge net approach. Try to get it to come up to the surface (some do, others won't) like during feeding time and while it's right at the top take a huge net and scoop up all the fish at once?

First of all keeping a 6line in a 16g is probably why he has behavioral problems. It's super f!!!ing pissed to begin with.

OOooh a lagoon 25 - nice tank.

Got any pics of the blenny? Do you have the ability to set up a temporary hospital tank?

I would observe carefully for signs of infection and if necessary move to QT and treat with antibiotics.

I don't have any pics but he's out of his hole pecking off the rocks so I think he's becoming more comfortable now so good news.. I think his bite mark is doing well.

Thank you all for the info!

Ive included a link to my tank when I first set it up. I now have the Bennie and two Rose bubble tips..I think one is splitting today which probably isn't good I think that means he's stressed. But my take is in great shape minus the mini Cyno outbreak which is normal at this point 2 months old wish

How is your fish?

He's doing well thank you !!!!
