Current USA Orbit Marine or something new?

Currently have a Current USA Orbit Marine LED on my tank. Looks like the zoas are ok. Some coraline algae is blooming. Having a weird green algae growing on rocks. I use a toothbrush but it doesn't come off. Just have heard I shouldn't be using this light because it causes problems, not enough light, or even can't have sps or lsp with this light. My tank is a JBJ 45RL, have one frag of zoas and comparing pictures it has grown three heads. Just don't know if I should continue adding corals with this light or start to save for something better. My tank is 2 months and I want to be able to have all the corals that I can in the tank. Anyone have any experiences with this light or any suggestions on a light, that is budget friendly?

I have that light. It's no good if you want LPS imo/e. Get a budget friendly mars aqua led from amazon or ebay if you're really tight on cash.

I've read of others who have LPS with Orbit Marines.

LPS doesn't require high light, moderate to lower level light.

If you want sps you will need to upgrade.

I'm using two current orbits on my Fusion 20, but that tank's only 12" deep. It really depends on depth and the intensity you're using, but take a look at holy carp's Mr Aqua 12. Awesome stuff.

I have this fixture on my 20-gallon tank and my LPS are doing great. I've seen others grow "easy" SPS up high with this as well. It works well and I've had it around a year now. In fact, mine is only set at around 75% white and 80% blue because when it was higher, I was seeing signs that some corals were getting too much light.

If you want to be able to keep ALL the corals, you will need to upgrade. However, this light is adequate enough for soft corals, many LPS and some SPS. I've been using this light for about 5 months and all of my corals are growing, except for one branching acro birds nest, I believe (freebie sent with an online order, would have never attempted to keep one of these). My tank is only 12" tall and the light is mounted 3" above it. It really depends on how tall your tank is, shallow tanks work best with this light.
