cbreevesms
Curious as to what these are. I had 3 of these balls in the tank over the weekend and a new one appeared today. The livestock is Picasso clowns (not mated yet), pink anthias, astreas, blood and cleaner shrimp and a perchlet. Link to comment
ndrobey
Is it possible some unknown hitchhiker has made the blobs its home and is inside of it? Link to comment
FishI
Is it raised up on the sand? Link to comment
cbreevesms
Yes, they were all sitting on top of the sand, laying against the rock. Is it possible some unknown hitchhiker has made the blobs its home and is inside of it? I haven't added anything in the last couple of weeks, but can't rule that out. When I took the first 3 out, I couldn't really identify what's inside, probably best described as a whitish slime. Link to comment
MysterRC
Any chance this is from your cleanup crew? Link to comment
cbreevesms
Any chance this is from your cleanup crew? Possibly, but between astreas, the conch and shrimp, I'm not sure who would create 4 of these in the last week. Also, they've all been in the same spot. Link to comment
Elizabeth94
It kinds looks like cucumber poop. Have any of those in your tank? Link to comment
VAReefDog
I would guess normal sand flora-- bacteria and such causing the sand to have a biofilm and stick together. If it is in an area where food or debris settles-- maybe change the powerhead circulation so it gets more movement. Consider adding nassarius snails to move sand bed around some. Wouldn't be concerned about it though. Link to comment
