Gargamel
I have a nano tank and one coral is doing very very fine. It's doing too fine and taking a lot of space in the aquarium and also taking light away from others. That coral is Euphillia paradivisa. is it ok if i just brake off couple heads and throw them away? I know this sounds horrible but i can't give them to anyone and i need more space for other corals. It is also starting to hit the pumps and part of a coral gets sucked in it. Link to comment
Elizabeth94
You can certainly cut a head of two off. Make sure you are not cutting any flesh, only the skeleton. I would probably use a dremel tool if you don't already have a bandsaw. Cant you just bring the piece to a fish store and get some credit for it? I would hate to see a nice chunk of perfectly healthy coral be wasted. Or put it up for sale for local pickup and let someone have it. Link to comment
jestep
+1 on bring them to a LFS if possible. I'm assuming you live somewhere rural that there aren't other reed keepers around. Otherwise, I can't imagine people not being all over free coral. Link to comment
Mkus
I cut mine the other day used a cordless dremel tool works great! Link to comment
cruiZe
Don't waste frogspawn!! lol You'd be surprised how much it's worth when you find someone to sell or trade it to. I took a chunk to LFS recently and got a nice credit. Shipping it is rough, and not cost effective for a few heads (needs to be overnight) Link to comment
hockeyhead019
could always send em my way! lol But seriously, what the other said, see what your LFS will give you for them. Even if it's just a couple bucks if it's growing that well then I'm sure you'll have enough to add up over time Link to comment
