Can I work from home yet?

Here is the thing: ideally, they want this person to work here in our office. Why? It is easier for a lot of reasons.

First and foremost, we can better train you. You'll be surrounded by aquariums and aquarium equipment. Experienced hobbyists and customer service gurus will groom you to become one of the fine, friendly support folks our customers rely on. Every Friday, our support team gets together to discuss hobby trends to make sure we are knowledgeable about the latest developments in our industry. Brands/manufacturers visit our headquarters regularly to demonstrate how new products work so we can recommend the right solutions, explain the benefits and walk customers through the installation. Sometimes when a customer has a question, we'll walk out to the warehouse and pull the product for review so we can be on the same page with them. We have a great team camaraderie, too. Having most of us under one roof makes communication and bonding come naturally.

Plus, you'll get to trade frags with us, do livestock group buys and get free equipment to take home and try or test on your own aquarium.

Now, that all said... do we have satellite employees working from other locations? We do!

So I do not want you to discourage anyone from introducing themselves in an effort to join our team. Just email your resume to us. We are always on the lookout for creative, hard working, deadline-oriented people who like to dazzle customers with outstanding service. We typically only post our customer service job openings on forums, but we like to hear from anyone who believes they can help us improve.

I am just an underpaid line cook... off work sick today, been sick to the stomach - not good around food... kinda wish I could get into something more worth my time. I love reefing, I love cooking. Perhaps get a canadian location.

Can I intern with y'all? 18 so wouldn't mind sleeping in the stand of an AIO

We recently had a super cool young photo intern shooting and editing product photographs for us for online and print. That's why I encourage anyone who is interested in working with us in any capacity to contact us!

Tell us about yourself, your work experience and ways you can help us improve and grow Marine Depot.

We are just regular guys and gals like you who love the hobby and want to create the best aquarium store there is.

Most of the opportunities at MD not in customer support are not posted on forums we sponsor. That is why I want to stress to anyone who might be interested in working here that if you have other skills (graphic/web design, IT, product development, marketing) applicable to e-commerce, reach out to us. Don't be shy!

Nearly all our support staff were hobbyists before they joined the company. That's not necessarily the case with other departments. But they'll usually become one at some point during their tenure. It's hard not to!

Yes!

Oh, we've got plans for you Canadians.

Improving the speed and lowering the cost of delivery to places we already ship as well as increasing the number of destinations we send orders to are all big priorities for us in the years ahead.

Would love to join MD own brand acrylic products designer :)

Ah, thanks! I already shared several of our private exchanges and links to your work with management.

If you apply for IT, do you still get to test equipment and join in on the demos and other aquarium fun? :happydance:

IT is the only exception. We don't share squat with those guys. I kid!

People from every department participate in group buys, sharing frags and getting goodies to test with their home tanks. Everybody here has different sized tanks, so often the decision of who gets to try something new is based on who has the right tank for the product. That's how I got my LED light. ;) I can't share what is is yet... but coming soon to Marine Depot! lol I've had the light over my tank since August and it's working beautifully.

Would you hire a Canadian that's visiting for a couple of months?

Well, that depends largely on the precise timing, your skill set and our needs at the time!

Of course, we are working closely with fellow members of the Illuminati to manipulate and control the prices of aquarium supplies in every country.

I would love to work for you guys! If it is possible to work from home. I do live in so Cal and a commute once a week to Garden Grove for meetings would be no big deal.
