This is my Nuvo nano 8 aquarium

I am relatively new to the hobby, this tank is about 5 months old, I have been through a lot of changes and deaths that have taught me a lot in the process. I currently have 5 frags. My frogspawn in the bottom right is recovering, I had the other head bail out on me but one remained. I haven't had much luck with frogspawns, perhaps it was my lack of care for them in the beginning of my hobby adventures, now I am carong for the tank a lot more and slowly adding more to the tank. If anyone has any suggestions or comments about my tank, I'm all ears. I have a Wave Point 9" 18 watt blade led light. I currently have 2 aptasia heads which I have found on my rock. I heard injecting them with hot water kills them, I'll try that out soon.post-90357-0-69623400-1453334540_thumb.jpeg

I also have a nuvo 8. Thread in the link below. Hot water won't kill in my experience but will make them detach to be removed

I am thinking about removing that large rock in the bottom of the tank, what do you think? I see that you have a mangrove in the back I used to have one just like that but I gave it away because I was told it was unnecessary.

(Just an aside: I like the "ring" aquascape; it seems like you might be able to do some interesting, unusual things with it. I hope you get your bugs worked out soon!)

I adopted my nuvo and it had a Mangrove. I like the "macro" and natural nutrient exports. Is it actually helping? Maybe not. Is it hurting? I doubt it.

Remember it's your tank. I think the ring is unique. Too tall for my personal preference. But you need to consider your stocking. You may benefit from a low light area like inside the ring or a hi light area like the top of the ring.

Whatever you like the best

I managed to remove the rock and exchanged it for a few more smaller rocks and I still have some left over.
