uwharrie
The Maroon Clown was my first tank inhabitant. It is about 2 inches long so far from grown and has started nipping me when I put my hand in the tank. Since I discovered they were aggressive I talked with my LFS as to good tank mates went with a six line wrasse ( due to it being quick and ability to hide) and a Flame Hawk I have seen no signs of aggression with any of the fish. Each seems to have its own area to hang out. A couple of days ago I notice my Maroon's fins looking a bit rough. He is missing chunks of his tail dorsal and ventral fins. Could the Flame Hawk be nipping him at night after lights out? Fish still acts fine, no signs of fungus, ick or anything. The wrasse and Flame look fine Link to comment
lobster876
idk both the flame hawk and sixline are aggressive but i think the sixline would be the criminal in this case. He has better hardware for the job than the flame hawkfish Link to comment

My six line definitely goes after all of my fish including the clown. I agree with lobster876. Watch the sixline. When mine gets nippy with the other fish, it is usually just one pass and its really quick. Link to comment
uwharrie
Never even suspected the sixline. Are they active at night? I have never seen him act agressive Link to comment
SunWyrm
I had falco hawks and they were fairly aggressive. I do think it's weird that it's happening after lights out. If there was aggression in my fish they do it constantly, not when everyone's asleep and calm. Sixline's are pretty heavy sleepers at night also. Link to comment
