Try the reef shoppe in the bronx. I've been there, small but cool guys nice coral . I'm not sure how far your looking to drive but in new York city we have tons of shops. Couple good ones in Brooklyn & long Island.

I'm not too sure where in Westchester you are but there's a great shop in Greenwich called house of fins. Travel time from white plains is about 20min.

I will definitely visit the one in Greenwich, the city is a little far for me, i live in putnam county(I asked about westchester because I dont mind driving there and I know theres not much in putnam) which is the next county north of westchester. if any of you were wondering I found a pretty solid place in Mt.Kisco NY called Complete Aquarium. great livestock and corals, a bit pricy though. Very knowledgable owner, no BS kind of guy.

unfortunately I've had bad experiences with them, could have just been a bad day and I took the brunt of it. But yes the quality is okay, pricy yes... Like I said just a bad experience with them personally. Whichs why I started going to the one in Greenwich. Unfortunately parking is trick but great stock, quality & quantity. And extremely knowledgable.

yeah I noticed the prices were way off with a few things, especially corals. would you say that the prices are more fair in Greenwich?

Personally I believe so... For instance the one in Mt Kisco tried charging me $45 for a single stalk on a frogspawn verses $20 for frogspawn, torch, or hammer in Greenwich. They also tried selling me a clearly unfed and pitiful looking dendro with 4 stalks for $200 when they couldn't even tell me if it's ever been opened or fed... ?

If you want to travel to queens, New York Reef Aquatic is a great store. Like everyone has stated above, there are a lot of good stores in the new york city area. A lot of the good stores in the area are sponsors on the manhattanreefs forum, so you might want to check that forum out.
