Rpc07
I came home from work today and noticed these marks on my clown. This was the same fish breathing heavy in another post I made. And a side question. Is this behavior normal? My other clown fish is hovering against the back wall. Thank you for any help. Link to comment
RIP Sebastian
Hi! The marks on the male clown could be the slime coat peeling off, which is known to happen if a fish is bit. Keep in mind that clowns, like any other damsel, are aggressive. They commonly nip each other to keep the chain of command. As for them hanging out in the back of the tank, that's totally normal. Clowns have been known to host nothing to almost anything. They often host magfloats, powerheads, heaters, etc. I have an Onyx Percula who dug a hole through the sand bed with her tail in the back of my tank, and sits in it. She's an oddball. Hope this helps, Nick Link to comment
-muse-
I wouldnt be too worried right now , just keep an eye on em. They both look pretty new probably just trying to establish dominance. Mine fought for weeks but now they are inseparable. Link to comment

metrokat
Both clowns could use some fattening up, and I thought I saw a stringy poop from one of the fish. If that is the case a prazi-pro treatment is needed for parasites. Link to comment

As far as feeding I feed mysis shrimp once a day but yesterday and today they did not eat. Should I try a quality flake food? Link to comment

Rpc07
I am sad to say the clown didn't make it. Came home from work and found him belly up. Now the other clown has what looks like white stringy poop. So I picked up prazipro removed the purigen and dosed the tank. I'm really feeling defeated at this point. Link to comment
uisge-beatha
Really sorry to hear about your loss. It's amazing how quickly you can become attached to such a little creature. I lost one of my first two clowns last week to misadventure, so I know what you mean about feeling defeated. Good move taking Kat's advice with the prazi-pro - I hope it helps the second clown pull through. Link to comment
