Cycleguy0623 Posted January 6, 2016 Share Posted January 6, 2016 I picked up a 6 stage 150gpd RODI unit for my new tank build. It is from Buckey Hydro. I set it up and installed filters just as I have in the past on my old BRS Rodi unit. After making the water for the initial fill I noticed my first DI stage was totally shot. Roughly 120 gallons in. The TDS coming out of the membrane reads between 40 and 60 which I blieave is quite high coming out of the membrane. I have verified this with two tds meters, one was a calibrated hand held unit. I tried to re-seat the RO membranes but it did not improve. Dose anyone have any clue as to why this unit would be working incorrectly? Link to comment
AZDesertRat Posted January 6, 2016 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Single 150 GPD membrane or dual 75 GPD membranes? Many vendors quit carrying the 150 GPD membranes because they were poor performers. I know for a fact Spectrapure only carried them for a very short time then discontinued them as they could not get enough to pass their quality control checks. I owned one for awhile and was lucky but I eventually scrapped it due to lackluster rejection rate and high DI replacement costs. You might contact Russ at Buckeye and run it by him, great guy.
