Yet Another Cadlights Negative Review Thread

So after experiencing the horror of the customer service from Cadlights when I first started in this hobby, I vowed I would never deal with them again. I decided to break my vow and order the Cadlights 68G Versa with a black stand. I am capable of giving people and businesses second chances so I did so and ordered the tank on December 19th. I received a call the following week that the black stands were out of stock and was informed that they had Espresso and white available. I declined because I informed Jason, the representative I spoke with, that I preferred the Black stand. I informed him I would just go ahead and accept a refund of my payment. He acknowledged and said I would receive a confirmation of my cancellation and ended the call.

 

I called back because I forgot to ask when should I expect my refund because I paid through paypal so the refund should be instantaneous and a simple click of "refund customer". Jason informed me to just request it through Paypal in which the only way I know how is to send a message to the seller through a claim; so I did so.

 

I called the next day to ask for a copy of the order cancellation confirmation and Jason sent me an email of my request to cancel.

 

Since then I have not received any notification of my refund. I called PayPal to see did they see a pending refund from Cadlights. and was informed nothing was showing. I was then transferred over to the dispute department where my case was instantly escalated by the representative. Cadlights has yet to reach out to me, refund my money, or contact Paypal.

 

 

 

It is very apparent that once Cadlights has your money, they run for the hills.

 

 

Just a warning to everyone. Their tanks have improved but their customer service declines further. STAY AWAY!!!!

That's a bummer. I have found that with larger companies like Cad, they have so much going on things get lost in the,"System" so to speak. I doubt the issue was them not wanting to refund your money, more likely there is a ridiculous process to get a refund approved. The Customer service rep at a company like that isn't the one to approve the refund, it has to go through the proverbial chain of command. I am sure you will get you refund. Hope you get you monies back quickly!

I received my funds back through the paypal dispute. Although I will say it wasn't the reps fault, but the refund could have been initiated on the phone. All it does is take a click of " Issue refund" on paypal.

 

I just ordered a RLSS DB-5i skimmer from Aquariumspecialty. It turned out to be out of stock. I received a call within 5 mins of placing the order informing so. I received a refund 3 mins later afterwards. That is the speedy result that should have been offered by Cadlights.
