ekocak
Hello all, First post here, but I've been reading through many of the threads in this subforum, as I'm working on building a 2.5 gallon pico for my desk at work. So far, I've been working on researching and acquiring the right equipment. Not planning on having any fish, and will probably just put in a few frags from my 40 gallon main tank. Link to comment

ekocak
Thank you! I just set my stuff up yesterday! I went with a 2.5 gallon tank, a Hagan marina S10 filter as a 'fuge, stuffed with macro algae, a hydor 25 watt heater and a 12 W ecoxotic panorama LED light. I have it totally stuffed with live rock: I'm guessing about 3.5 lbs. I plan to just have some sexy shrimp and a few polyps and zoas. Link to comment
ekocak
Oh, also, I seeded it with rock and sand and water from my 40 gallon dwarf cuttlefish tank. Link to comment
ekocak
Tank is looking pretty good. Did a water change yesterday, but only about 25%. From what i'm reading, it's more typical to just toss nearly all the water? Does that affect the bacteria negatively? Link to comment
brandon429
nope no harm to bacteria using anything we do aside from actual antibacterial medications. Stirring up partially rotten waste is a problem though, so I keep my tank so clean there never is any. Link to comment
