Ordered last night from black friday 50% off sale. My tank is just about a year old and doing very well so I ordered so mushrooms, zoas, a cabbage leather and a tiny frag of sps since it was pretty and only three dollars. I ordered a mini maxi anemone and a rock flower anemone. I'm not so sure about the rock flower but I'm willing to give it a try since it was seven dollars and I liked it. I'm going to go easy on feeding the nems. If they don't work know out my local pet store will take them.

I kept the tank softies only the way I had planned except for the tiny sps frag which was a moment of weakness and probably going to end up in a friend's tank as a Christmas present. We'll see how it does.

I'll keep updates on the order status and how they arrive and how they do in the tank.

How was it? I've heard such mixed reviews and all of the reviews were so old. I'm worried about the welfare of these animals. I'm scared I'm going to open a box of dead coral and anemones that will kill everything in my tank.

I knew I shouldn't have ordered two anemones at once since the tank has never had anything as heavy as an anemone (it's a fishless, barebottom tank with a shrimp and several hermit crabs and snails) I'm thinking of adding a sixline harassed to control the platforms and add some good colorful movement but plans for the tank is a maximum of two fish. I know I can fit more, particularly since I do very frequent three gallon water changes every week and sometimes more often as needed but I don't want a heavy bioload or crowded looking tank.

But it's a baby rock flower anemone and a small mini maxi so I can't imagine to much trouble. I figured I'd feed maybe two pellets a week each and some phytoplankton/amino acid vitamins mix and do a small gallon water change maybe an hour after. It's a one year old 20 gallon after all. Ill try my hardest and if they look like their struggling ill rehome them into a better tank with someone else

Sixline wrasse to control flatworms. Lol. Spell check sucks

i have ordered from saltcritters many times. they are pretty solid as long as you understand they post pics under only blues and only whites. they clearly say that on their website but people get mad when the corals don't pop like they do in their pics because their light is not all blues.

Thank you :) I understand about the lighting. I thought the way they were photographed was weird so I looked into it. I'm not looking for crazy color at this price. I'm looking for some simple beginner anemones and corals. I'm staying far away from anything designer or expensive. Just some life to fill up my tank. I enjoy watching the environment I created flourish and grow, I'm not all about the newest and the craziest.

I just placed my order today. Will update when it arrives.

Thank you, that would be awesome. I love their deals and shipping. I emailed them about changing the arrival date a few hours ago and they got to me within the hour with different dates they could ship. I ended up sticking with the original date and arranging for someone to be home to get it anyways but the service was fantastic.

If the corals arrive in good shape I will definitely be purchasing from them again. I'm expecting small, simply colored corals so not high expectations, just want them alive and in good condition . I hope I won't be disappointed.

I'll post some pictures of them when they arrive so you guys can see the quality of the shipment and what I got for 102$

I ordered from them back in July. About 10 frags. They arrived via next day air and before 10am. I just went into work after acclimating them. The pieces are great, just like ninja said, know how they will really look in your tank and you should be very pleased. All pieces still alive and thriving.

I've ordered from them once during their 10$ Frag Sale. I ordered about 7 Frags of various corals (Torches, Zoas, Acan, SPS).

One SPS arrived dead, no tissue left and completely white. I wasn't sure if it was sent like this, or died during transport. But, I followed their policy and took a picture of the coral after the acclimation process. The husband immediately gave me Store Credit for the DOA. About a week later one of the two torches I got contracted brown jelly disease and quickly perished. Obviously not his fault, just the risk when dealing with Euphyllias. I still sent him a picture anyway, he honored the refund policy and again gave me store credit.

All the other corals I got from them have been doing great. The colors of the corals were spot on based on the lighting in my tank. The zoa frags are not identified, which sucks. However, each Frag has a great amount of Zoas (15-20p+).

Just from the great customer service, I would order from them again. The prices and sales they have on corals match what you receive; so even if one or two corals perish, you still get money back within two weeks, which is more then generous.

Wow, love the support for this seller. I feel a lot more confident with my order now.

I hope I have the same good experiences when my order comes in.

It's here!! They are absolutely stunning. Nothing dead, awesome color and they just came out of the bag and are acclimating in the bucket. The rock flower nem had attached to the bag so I had to cut the bag off around her and ease her into letting go. But other then that, no complications. Will absolutely be ordering again.

Mine are an absolute dream. I think I may email salt critters to personally thank them for the phenomenal corals and anemones I received. Everything was looking good the second I opened the box. I get them in the tank and in less than ten minutes everything is wide open and looking amazing. Really good colors and quality, the sizes were awesome and many had very small baby polyps that had not been pictured on the site. Maybe older pictures? Either way, awesome.

The rock flower anemone started settling and found a spot hiding under an arch immediately and the mini maxi was snug as a bug in seashell it was attached to. My vicious coral banded shrimp redrum already stole a pieces of food from it but got stung for it, which should be a good lesson to the little food thief. Haha.

I can't even believe how good everything was. Even the sps polyps opened right up. I will post pics tomorrow of everything. I got a bit of dinos that popped up overnight but they seems to be fairing well with the algae nuisance. I'll be able to deal with it very quickly. Dinos are the ban of my existence, I've gotten pretty good and beating them back.

All are looking good, the Nems are fine ( was really worried how they might far being tossed around) The corals are open and doing well.

My new critters are quite peeved. My rock nem crawled to the back of a rock and is staying in the dark, my mini maxi is a bit crunched duo. My toadstool is closed up but other leathers, polyps, zoas, and mushrooms are all fine and open. I imagine it's from a mix of changing up the flow and adding a sandbed, my first fish (a neon dottyback, one inch long) and all the corals and anemones. The sudden bioload is probably straining the system. I'm thinking of upping the water changes, adding stability bacteria, and keen ing it very clean for the next week or so till things settle in.

Oops sorry animals of the tank. I figured out the problem. I tested the water and everything looked pretty good. I use five in one test strip which have a reputation of being inaccurate but it took me a long time to figure out how to read them so they were more accurate. There are way better ways of testing water but I do what I can. Anyways. I had tested salinity in the bags when the coral arrived and it was 1.028. Tested my salinity today and it was 1.024. Big difference. So I did a water change of about a gallon and a half to help get rid of all the leather coral shed and other yucky things in the water from the huge amount of new things put in the tank and I'm starting to top off with salty water that is like 1.030, ill do it till the water is 1.026. Keep it slow though, no more than 0.001 a day.

Everything perked up a bit, moved things arrive, they got mad again. Finally starting to look better but we'll see as the salinity rises
