holy carp
I've seen some questions on programming these, so I put together an excel sheet that assists in visualizing and programming the Current USA Ramp Timer Pro. This is part of my Orbit Marine light, but I believe it's the same programming with other models or the stand-alone unit. In order to save a program on this controller, you need to overwrite one of the existing presets. Hopefully some nano-reefers might find this helpful. note: you'll need to enable macros in excel... and of course, you'll need MS Excel. Orbit Marine Ramp Timer Calc.xlsm.zip 5 Quote Link to comment
holy carp
Replaced the file with an updated version that has a better chart graphing the light through the hours of the day Quote Link to comment

The macros in this spreadsheet make it so much easier to fiddle with settings. This should get a sticky in the lighting forum! Now I don't have to re-read the manual everytime I want to make changes to the presets! 1 Quote Link to comment
SeaFurn
I know the Ramp Timer Pro will keep the current time and any programs in memory if the power goes out but does anyone know if the lighting schedule is supposed to resume automatically to the set program in the right place when the power comes back on? I ask because the power went off at some point today for less than 10 minutes but the light was clearly not on the schedule I have programmed. When I got home the lights should have been ramping down with more blue but the whites were on and were fairly intense. I pressed Resume and then it started running my program correctly. I checked and my program is in memory correctly still. Anyone experience this or know how to get it to resume to the set program when the power comes back on? Quote Link to comment
holy carp
It definitely retains the programming in the 4 memory locations, but I believe you're right about it not always going back to the last active of the 4 programs after power loss. I don't know off the top of my head if it always goes back to the same one of them, but I believe I've seen it restart in M1. Will have to do some experimentation... Quote Link to comment
twowilldo
I went searching for ways to re-program the start and stop times of the presets... this solves the problem. Thanks for taking the time to build that file, this is GREAT! 1 Quote Link to comment
BigBearAZ
This light works great on my 20L tank - but programming is cumbersome for sure. Major PROPS to you man for putting this spreadsheet out there. This is an indispensable tool if you have this light. Just programmed mine after a month of doing things the manual way. 1 Quote Link to comment
sevin67
I just received the current USA Orbit. I'm at a total loss on how to program this. How do I get what I program into the time m1, m2, or m3 buttons? I've tried everything and when I hit one of the time m1 2 3 or 4 after thinking I've programmed it, the default times are still there! Lol. I'm probably WAY over thinking it and made myself Soooo frustrated! Do I press m1 at the top a then.....? I hate to ask but can somebody give me a quick step by step instruction? Thank y'all SOOOOO MUCH! Quote Link to comment

If you don't have the manual, you can find it on their website. Quote Link to comment

Thank y'all SOOOOO MUCH! Once your program is entered you have to press and hold any of the Timer M1, Timer M2, Timer M3, or Timer M4 buttons at the bottom of the remote for at least 5 seconds. Watch the display as your holding it as it will flash SL-1, SL-2, SL-3, or SL-4 depending on the button you're holding and this indicates the button is programmed. Hope this helps. KimmyB75
OMG I am so grateful I found this and for you to post an easier way to read it. I have been fighting with my lighting schedule for a week now and can not seem to find how to adjust the times for the preset programs. The instructions that came with it may as well be written in Chinese. Acid/base balances were not even this hard to figure out!!! lol 1 Quote Link to comment
hannible
Hi, does someone still have the excel file and i am having issues programming the light strips. How do i use the pre-programmed M1, 2, 3, 4 and just set a set start and end time? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
