Dolomiteclay
I dropped an allen wrench in my display tank when I moved my light up a little, and I can't find it. I have black sand so it's going to be tough. I know it's not a good thing and thus far it doesn't seem to have a negative effect on anything, but has anyone else had a similar thing happen? Do I have much to worry about? Link to comment

Hammerstone
Drag around a stick like a chop stick and feel for resistance and see if you can find it that way. Upside down net? Is it magnetic? Link to comment
D Z
Was thinking the same thing. If it is magnetic, which it probably is, you could use the wet side of a magnet cleaner to search around in the black sand. Shouldn't take long to find it that way. Link to comment
Dolomiteclay
I'm guessing it would be magnetic. I'll give that a try. I have a good bit of live rock so I guess I'll have to move it all out in order to do a complete search. Link to comment
Elizabeth94
It shouldn't be hard to find it if its in your display. Just take a stick like Hammerstone suggested and move it around the sand. You should feel it hit the stick right away. Link to comment
