Lost an Allen Wrench in DT

I dropped an allen wrench in my display tank when I moved my light up a little, and I can't find it. I have black sand so it's going to be tough. I know it's not a good thing and thus far it doesn't seem to have a negative effect on anything, but has anyone else had a similar thing happen? Do I have much to worry about?

It will probably corrode and breakdown over time. You should probably get it out.

Was thinking the same thing. If it is magnetic, which it probably is, you could use the wet side of a magnet cleaner to search around in the black sand. Shouldn't take long to find it that way.

I'm guessing it would be magnetic. I'll give that a try. I have a good bit of live rock so I guess I'll have to move it all out in order to do a complete search.

It shouldn't be hard to find it if its in your display. Just take a stick like Hammerstone suggested and move it around the sand. You should feel it hit the stick right away.
