I've been reefing since 04. Should I say, nano reefing since 04 lol. This is the biggest tank I have ever set up and I'm pretty pumped!

I work with metal for a living, mostly modeling/designing but I also program CNC machines. So naturally I built my own stand.

1/4" foam on top.

I wanted a place to keep all the cords at bay and have easy access to all the goodies.

Here is the first FTS, even though it's dry :)

I want to do a full blown SPS reef. After weeks of reaserching I think I am going to go with an ATI T5HO fixture. Still debating over a 6 or 8 bulb fixture though.

That's all for now, I'll probably start mixing all the water during the long Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanks. What bulb combo are you running?

I'm experimenting now. I have 5 Blue +, 1 Purple Plus, 1 True Actinic, 1 Coral Plus. Its a little blue but I like it. It reminds me of the current ToM photos.

I should receive another coral plus and true actinic today. I'm adding the Actinics to lower the par and add more pop. Ill let you know what the results are and tell you my final bulb choices when I do maintenance this weekend.

I've had a 250w Metal halide(pheonix bulb), hydra 52 and the ati over the tank. So far the ATI has been my favorite.

Cool. I understand the need for more pop, but why are you trying to lower the par?

Just the fact that the tank is only 12" deep. I bought a fixture I can reuse should I decide to upgrade. i guess lower par was the wrong wording. What I meant is I can put 2 actinic in there and still have plenty of par left with the other 6 bulbs.
