Halo_003
Looking at maybe using some extra parts and doing a light to have a frag rack in a sump. Looking to get a 16-18k color look, challenge is no dimming and all 1 channel. This would be a simple on/off. I have a couple of RapidLED moonlight drivers, one of which I'll use for this. I was thinking something like... 1x SEMILED Violet 1x Rebel Royal Blue 1x CREE Blue 1x Rebel Neutral White Would that be close to 16-18k? Or am I way off? Link to comment
jedimasterben
You'd want to run at least three royals and one blue for every white to get anywhere close to that color temperature range. Link to comment
Halo_003
Hmm. What about to mimic the Radium 20K halide bulbs? Something like this: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13602593&postcount=3 What sort of mix would that take? Link to comment
jedimasterben
Radiums don't look anything like that lol. Again, for a high color temperature, you will need several more royal blue than you do white. Link to comment

Would that leave me with a spectrum that is too narrow or anything? If I won't be able to get the kind of color linked above with a moonlight driver, I could also go more than 4 LEDs with one of these, which I have laying around. What about using that with 3x RB, 1x blue, 1x NW, 1x Violet? Link to comment
