isaacharry
Hi, I am looking for a good ATO system, I do not have a sump so it would have to go from a bucket of water to my tank which is about 50 inches in height including the stand. Which do you recommends? I am looking at Tunze, and SMART Link to comment
ajmckay
Both get good reviews... The tunze comes with a DC pump, tubing, and everything you need. The Hydor doesn't come with a pump or tubing but you and use any regular AC pump... What size tank do you have? The tunze is rated for a tank of 55g or less but I don't think the hydor smart level has any such limitation. For $100 either of those would probably be good. JBJ is also a popular one, and innovative marine makes one that seems pretty good as well - I think there's a version with and without a pump? Link to comment
ReeferReefer
I am having the same problem. Most ATOs will work, its finding a good pump that is a problem. Something with low flow but powerful enough to lift the water. Link to comment
ajmckay
I just made a DIY ATO and chose to use the tunze ATO pump and I'm diggin' it. Uses 1/4" tubing and has a low flow. It's quiet, and it should have plenty of power to pump to your tank at 50". Plus it's included in the package which is nice. Link to comment
bob115
The tunze 3155 is $146.99 on BRS right now, I scooped one up and am so far pretty happy with it. Link to comment
thedon986
Get the Tunze. I got the Hydor unit and the Tunze pump. If I had to do it over again I would go all Tunze. Link to comment
