mpad
Just a repost from here http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/367336-reefin-on-the-edge-a-noobs-endeavour/?p=5182347 I am in the planing phase for a Fluval Edge II tank and wondering about the perfect scape I really want something that goes with the vertical aspects of the tank, and I kind of want an overhang Problem is the punctual light source in the middle back part of the tank, which gets most likely obstructed by vertical structures... I also want some free space to put a clam on the sand bed, which also needs direct light. Pretty ambitious for that shape of tank Happy to get some feedback / ideas! I like the first one the most at the moment. I think maybe I underestimate coral growth regarding the overall height of the rockwork. Inspration came from this interesting scape: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/355402-jjs-fluval-edge-12g/?p=4927505 Link to comment
Revenant
Nice patient start. I've successfully kept an Edge II for a few years now. I think you're going in the right direction as far your scaping. Many people don't take advantage of the Edge's height and make the mistake of a small, low scape which makes the top water column look a bit empty. This is a pic of my Edge when I originally set it up as a FOWLR tank. Now it's a reef full of corals. Getting the tall rock in was....an effort....but I think it was worth it in this tank. mpad
very nice! I would just take it yeah, getting that stuff in there is gonna be a puzzle. maybe I use something with an internal pipe skeleton like in the link above so I can stick it back together in the tank. Link to comment
BRN
Are you doing sps my man? thats why i left the upper colum of my tank a little bare because i want macros, sps, and gorgs to grow to the right height and not get bleached, i wouldnt go super high tbh. The light the mp3 comes with is really strong so you might have some trouble with bleached sps if you scape to tall and put sps at the very top. just my 2 cents i really like the first scaping idea and the last one, these would work best with the flow on the mp3, trust me.
