Salt on coral

This morning when I was feeding my tank, I took the top off and a chunk of salt that had built up fell into my tank and landing on my Duncan coral. Before I could get it out, the coral has closed up around it. I tried squirting some water to try and blast the salt out but I'm not sure it did anything. Now there is a clear mucus coming out of the polyp it hit. The rest of the coral isn't completely open either. Has anyone had something like this happen, and is there anything I should do at this point?

That clear mucus could just be the salt dissolving if the polyp is not open. It should be fine though, give it time. You might need to up your cleaning on the areas that get salt creep so it doesn't build up like that. My last tank had lots of salt creep in the sump, so annoying. Someone here probably has a remedy for this.

the clear mucus is probably from the Duncan being irritated by the salt. Just wait it out and hope for the best, the salt has dissolved by now. I have had salt creep fall on coral and usually burns them pretty good. Like stated above it would be a good idea to clean off the creep.
