cuber14
A few hours after water change with only moonlghts on i noticed some brittle stars out in the LR. Normaly I only see their arms.....passing by again I noticed a vast number ( over 25 ) stars on the scape working their way towards the top. Once on top they all started to spawn it was amazing and crazy at they same time. I seen one or two do this but I had no idea I had that many in my 14BC. What triggers their spawn and when do I need to worry about there being too many. Link to comment
HarryPotter
Cool! I wouldn't worry, they just are part of your CUC Link to comment
cuber14
Thats what i hoped. But the population does seem a little out of control maybe time to catch a few for trade. Link to comment
Partially Submerged
Awesome! Brittle stars are hard to catch intact, but their population is regulated by the availability of food, so overpopulation shouldn't be an issue. Link to comment
Moulton712
They look pretty cool when little. Just all that character in such a little animal. Link to comment
cuber14
I was so excited when i saw my first one and still love to watch them. Im always amazed by their speed when out on the LR those little guys can fly. How big do they get? I saw one or two that had bodies about 3/8 of an inch across and arm span of 3 inches or more. Scorched
Yep I've seen it happen 2-3 times so far with my tank as well. Every time was right after a water change. Link to comment
