Cut off from Zoa frag?

I had a Zoa head get messed with and now is an eye sore. Can I just snip this off? If yes, is there a specific do or don't when cutting?

honestly i would leave it and see if it colors up back to normal, whenever i handle my rastas to frag, i always touch them and they turn weird colors, but always open back up and color up within the hour, and this only happens with my rastas... as long as its open i don't see a reason to cut it, then you take the chance of the palytoxin or whatever its called leaking into your tank, or damaging the surrounding polyps.... if you wanna continue to cut it, just take the sharpest, and CLEANEST, razor blade, and slice it off as close to the "foot" as possible.... post some pics as to how everything goes
