Attempted to feed mysis shrimp, not much luck. The RFA is still a little stressed. Link to comment

HarryPotter
Wow thats awesome. I recommend a nano-mag to deal with the "battle" of the glass! Link to comment

R1sky_Biz
Looking good! I have the same tank and I'm thinking about rescaping the whole thing.. Did you have any cycling issues? Link to comment
righttirefire
I believe all the information in the first 2 posts are complete and accurate for the time being. Looking good! I have the same tank and I'm thinking about rescaping the whole thing.. Did you have any cycling issues?I have no idea. I don't expect a cycle. I tossed the old filter floss and replaced it. I expect most the bacteria is in the rock. It's lightly stocked. I'm mostly watching and establishing husbandry. Wow thats awesome. I recommend a nano-mag to deal with the "battle" of the glass! I have a biocube mag cleaner, I'm hoping it'll have a similar radius. Link to comment
righttirefire
Looking good! I have the same tank and I'm thinking about rescaping the whole thing.. Did you have any cycling issues? Last night I ran my "cycle" test. The high quality API freshwater test kit with downloaded and printed saltwater color charts came back out. Ammonia was the typical API "green" undetectable coloration Nitrites was that beautiful blue color, undetectable So I'm assuming no cycle. I wasn't expecting one Link to comment

righttirefire
Idea in my head... Obviously it's not done. But I'm done with it today. I mostly reached my expected stopping point and overall happy with the project Link to comment
righttirefire
Not much progress today, Water change, about 2 gallons, nitrates before change 16ppm, after 12ppm. No other parameters tested. Continued to work on the stand, it's prep'ed for staining, bottom installed, wood for the drawer purchased. Did some goby shopping, I'm thinking a randell/orange stripe (maybe too big), yasha (maybe hard to aquire), hi fun red banded (more common), and my LFS had these in stock, Two spot, (maybe too big) And Tangaroa Link to comment
Obsessed Reefer
I've read that Two Spots are hard to keep alive. They're sifters, and are hard to train to eat frozen. I'd research a little more into them before getting one. Link to comment
righttirefire
I'm still weeks away... research is key. I've done enough looking to identify potential candidates. But nothing specific to individuals. I'm still finishing the stand. Need to move the tank, need to remove a rock and deal with some frags. Than let the dust settle again. Plus I'll be gone over thanksgiving and the girlfriend will be in and out with family things and I need to get her up to speed on feeding. She takes care of the feeding minus the coral foods and this tank currently... she's an overfeeder, but follows feed directions once a schedule is established The diamond goby in my 20 eats like a champ, frozen, pellets, flakes, not picky. Always has, but I'm not really looking for another sifter, looking for more of a watchman Link to comment
Balix
nice tank. I have a black clownfish, purple firefish and fire shrimp in my nuvo 10. In terms of stocking, if I had to do it again, I would avoid gobies and clownfish combo. My firefish hides all day in his cave b/c he is scared of my black clownfish (got territorial over food). My watchman on my other tank does the same thing. I guess it depends how much you want to see it. Feeding is a pain too since it won't leave it's cave so I have to use a longer dropper to get pellets to it. Link to comment
Mirya
Next time you order from inTank (cause you know you will order a box of filter floss and Chemipure at some point!) throw in one of their all-in-one corner scrapers. It helps with the curved corners on the Nuvo. Link to comment

It helps with the curved corners on the Nuvo. I almost order one with my last order. I was right at the edge where it could have been free. Thanks for the tip, those corners are difficult. nice tank. Clown was never a consideration in this tank. I personally don't like clowns, but my other tank has a clown and bta "pair" and a diamond gobt and clown goby. It's a big enough tank no issues. righttirefire
Test results in: Temp- 78F Salinity- 1.026 Mg- 1580 ppm Ca- 530 ppm dKH- 7.0 No3- 12-16 ppm Po4- 0.04-0.08 ppm Testing done with Red Sea Products: Saltwater Refractor Reef Foundation Algea Control I think it's time for a RO/DI system, and take control of my salt, Aviator used Red Sea Coral Pro Salt and his parameters were better than mine. All my stuff is pretty high in my opinion except dKH, and it mirrors my other system parametes, same water, different tank Link to comment
righttirefire
Any salt suggestions? I'm reasonably sure my LFS uses Kent, I'll have to visit him today. I've already advised him on his "fresh" saltwater, and it works for his large systems and his clients large systems. Just not my little systems Link to comment
righttirefire
Monday is around the corner. I'd suspect an email from Dave and the shipping of my tide. The cabinet has 2 coats if stain, no drawer or door, but I'll let it set in the garage for the day or 2. Move it into the house wednesday. And move the tank friday? The little rock flower is walking. I like wandering nems Link to comment
righttirefire
The stand is inside, still no drawer or cabinet door, sitting on cardboard to keep the possibility of stain from stainimg the carpet. I'm planning on building the drawer today. Possible transfer the tank to its new stand. Remove a rock, play with the corals placement. The rock flower is still walking around. I think the pump upgrade and spin stream caused the wandering Link to comment
righttirefire
Introducing the last cast members of "Hijacked" a RTF production. Well another tank complete... almost. Waiting on Dave, I talked to him today I'm next in line. Once this is nanobox equiped. I'm officially done! And finish the cabinet. Aviator you'd hardly recognize the tank. I'm moved some stock, upgraded the system, and added livestock. I'm extremely happy with it and just get to enjoy it now. Link to comment
righttirefire
Typical candy cane style, it's unaccounted for this morning. It was out and about cruising last night, I think it's broken I didn't burrow. But I have a nice cave. Even the deaf girlfriend heard it "click". It was having issues with a coral... and picking up a single grain of sand at a time Link to comment
righttirefire
I don't know why she tolerates me. But as you can see the stand is a work in progress. Hopefully finish the drawer later today FTS 112215 Everytime my hand goes into the tank. I break a piece of the monti. It's upsetting. Thinking about moving all my zoas into this tank. Elizabeth94
I really like those pink zoas, and the birdsnest looks so healthy! Nice job Looks like the tank has made a nice comeback Link to comment

Nice job Looks like the tank has made a nice comeback Upper left under the birdsnest, I think they are a paly. I have a not as nice "frag" in the sump of my 20. It was on the rock I removed. The little hi-fin got after mysis last night. Big mouth for a little fish. Huge appetite too, ate 3 frozen mysis. I'm hoping it shared with the pistol. Not sure the little candy cane got any. Parameters tested: Mg: 1460 ppm Ca: 495 ppm dKH: 9.8 No3: 8 ppm Po4: 0.04 ppm Everything is ready for the thanksgiving holiday neglect time Link to comment
