I've read that it's actually best to use Styrofoam because it permanently adjusts to the new shape and eliminates the stress all together where as pads like this can still create pressure spots. Unfortunately, unless you have a lip on your stand Styrofoam looks terrible. I have some of the Styrofoam that I use for shipping other critters so I might see how terrible it looks if I pick up the tank. If it doesn't workout I'll probably do this mat. Link to comment
