Deep Blue 80 Breeder Build! Need some Feedback

So with my deployment ending in a couple of weeks and my Deep Blue 80 Breeder build starting the moment I get home I'm set on all the equipment I'm going to use for the tank but wanted to see what you guys though.

Tank: Deep Blue 80 Breeder Reef Ready, using flex tubing for the plumbing because I despise PVC

Heater: 200 watt Jager heater

Skimmer: Bubble Mag Curve 5, open to suggestions in the same price range that perform well

Return Pump: Jabeo DC 3000 with gate valvue

Sump: My old 40 breeder with no baffles, custom egg crate box for chateo and some live rock rubble

Flow: Until after the new year couple power heads (forgot brand) 600gph plus return pump, will be upgrading to the Maxspect Gyre 130 after the New Year/Christmas

Lighting: This was a never ending debate for the past 6 months but I finally decided on the Reef Breeders 48" fixture, it will give me the best coverage and has the option for hanging or tank mount. Dave at Nanobox was a huge help and he makes a truly amazing product but the Reef Breeders is going to give me a little bit better coverage for what I'll need on that tank. But I can't wait to start my 7.5 gallon cube back up and I'm getting one of Dave's Nanobox's for that tank.

RO/DI: Already have the refurb SpecturaPure 90gpd unit and my wife says it works great, haven't even seen it yet lol. She is an amazing woman and did the install on her own and saved her many trips to the LFS.

The Set up: So this is where I have a rough plan set out, I've done an upgrade before from the 20L to my 40B but now the water volume is massive. So my thoughts are this are as follows;

Stage 1: Several days prior using two 32 gallon Brute trash cans to make saltwater for the upgrade so it's ready for the move date.

Stage 2: Breaking down the 40B and setting everything up in a massive tote I already have for the day.

Stage 3: Add sand to the new tank, get the 40 Breeder cleaned up for the sump, get it below and add all equipment, flex tubing will already be cut to proper length to expedite plumbing.

Stage 4: Slowly start adding water to eliminate cloudiness, gotten fairly good at it and had virtually no clouding up with my 40 Breeder. Will attach 2 AC/70's I have for a couple hours with filter floss to help speed up clearing up the water. Water will not be filled enough to hit the overflow at that time yet either

Stage 5: After using the RO/DI 60 gallons and about 30 gallons from the 40 Breeder that I'm keeping tank will be good to go to start filtration and bring the beast to life!

Stage 6: Acclimate the fish and corals and add them to the tank

Let me know what you guys think about everything, would love to hear some feedback on it! Tank will be ready for me to pick up once I'm home (SO EXCITED), stand is being built day 2 I'm home and will be putting in at least 6 hours a day on it or more. I'll have about 2 weeks before the stand is done so in that time I'll be ordering the light, skimmer, pumps, etc. Want to make sure everything is good before I start this and wana hear any feedback any of you have before it officially starts in just over 2 weeks.

Lots of Pics will be posted with the build, PROMISE!

Sounds awesome!

I would look into ordering one of MrReefer's sump kits... No baffles seems pretty difficult. Where are you going to run filter floss without a rack?

We need a tank transfer sticky! Document this transition and let's sticky this bitch! It's an awesome build. Here's my transfer,

I think your on the right page and being the second transfer you'll have less stumbling blocks. I assume you know to add heaters to your brutes. This will help preset your heaters and save the time heating the water.

Also I hope you have a good tote. I use a 33 gallon starolite tote and it's gets to bowing to pretty bad with 20 gallon of water.

Looking forward to the build! And come home soon!

I was but I want to go with no chambers in the sump, going to keep it really simple like I always do with my tanks. Plus it will make it SUPER easy to take the thing out from time to time and give it a good cleaning. Don't feel the need to use filter floss but I might wind up getting something like this but unsure yet, time will tell. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vertex-filter-sock-mount-100-for-4-socks.html#tab-full-details

Looking forward to this build, its the tank I been looking to get myself.

I have been planning and looking forward to doing this build for the past 8 months since I've been on this deployment. And it begins in 2 weeks from today!

I am going to document it really well and I plan on building a thread to serve as a guide for people doing upgrades. The tote I have is really strong and I've had it filled with rock and water before with no issues.

Oh I will be using my spare 100 watt heater for heating up the water in the Brute trash cans, that way there won't be much at all to heat things up.

That's cool you're coming home soon!! I bet your wife will be over the moon!

Oh she is very excited along with me. She even detailed my truck so it's nice and clean for me. She has been the best life line being on a ship halfway around the world in the middle of the ocean. 8 1/2 months is a long time to be deployed for, so ready for it to be done with.
