Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and very excited to be here,I guess the first thing I would like to know is what is everyone using for filtration in their innovative marine fusion tanks,I am currently starting a I m fusion 30L and I'm very interested in seeing what people are doing,

So many people make such a great number of various modifications to these tanks that we could go on forever with this subject. Best bet is to start research and see what fits and works for other people. Then narrow things down for there.

Hit up the search function of our site and read around.

I've been planning a system fir 3 months and still hit the search up daily

On my IM Fusion 10, I'm running an InTank Media Basket with floss and Chemi-Pure Blue, and the IM Desktop Ghost Skimmer. I know a number of people that use relatively same combination that have experienced great success! But like others have said try different things and see what you prefer.

InTank media baskets are probably the most common "modification" done... I say it with quotations as it's more replacing the painfully horrible stock media baskets. Steve's baskets are rather well designed, look nice, and most importantly actually hold a reasonable amount of media AND don't get knocked around by water flow, not to mention that in the larger tanks (20/25/30/40/50) as there's two media baskets you can set up one with chemical filtration and the other as a mini-fuge if you want to.

In my fusion 20 I put filter floss and a piece of a 200 micron filter sock on the skimmer side and filter floss and a piece of 200 micron filter sock and chemi-pure on the other side. I've had pretty good luck with that.

BUT, the problem i have is detritus building up in the two lowest section underneath. I have just order some MarinePure blocks that i am going to cut down to fit in the lower sections. hopefully this will add some more bio-filtration and block that build up from happening. Does anyone have any thoughts on using the MarinePure down there and/or what are you doing in those low areas (blackholes).

Would be cool if there was a valve down there in the empty space that you could open and flush that junk out periodically.

Agreed! How is everyone cleaning this lower section? I usually just get a hose and try to siphon out as much as possible

For my fusion 30L, I have 2 Intank media baskets running with filter floss and 3/4 cup of rox Carbon(alternate changing bags every 2 weeks.) IM ghost skimmer, 2 IM desktop reactors(GFO and biopellets), and a dual head stenner pump for automatic water changes(about a gallon a day.)

Only piece I don't like is the skimmer. It does an okay job, but my tunze 9002 pulled more skim and was quieter.
