Elinvader11
Hi, I purchased O2's mini bluefish board for a led project in the making just waiting on the controller to come in...I spoke to O2 and he mention the SWC for controlling the fans on the board,I did some research and found a thread mentioning the SWC 08C-12...I've been to every electronic website trying to find these things with no luck ...Everything is out of stock ...Is there a site that I possibly don't know about that I could purchase these SWC...I was getting excited on the build until I hit this brick wall...Almost a month in wait for these drivers to show up in the US ...what a bummer !!!!! RollaJase
I ordered 1 from Mouser and I had to order 1 locally. I had the same issue, my driver board came in over a month or so ago and the SWC driver was the only one I couldn't get my hands on at the time. O2 did say that depending on the fans you are running you can get away with the SWC-05C-12 driver. It is still 12v but offers less watts (5.6 vs 8 I believe). So if your fans are drawing less that 5.6W at full speed you can go for the 05C-12 which is easier to find and a little cheaper. Check out AliExpress for the drivers, I did see a few on there a few weeks ago. I believe they are so hard to find due to the demand and the factory not being able to keep up. I believe the ETA from order to delivery is 6-8 weeks ATM. Link to comment
Elinvader11
Okay..thanks for the heads up !!!!I'm going to retrofit a coralife pendant that was giving to me with a 28" heatsink with 32 leds on it you think 2 fans drawing less than 5.6 will be fine to keep that heatsink cool ? Cause if it is I well go for the less wattage driver... Link to comment
RollaJase
Ultimately the watts the fans draw depends on the fans. Looking at a coralife pendant you could probably fit a single 120mm or 140mm fan inside the enclosure. A single fan wont draw that much, even at 2200rpm. Link to comment
Elinvader11
Well I wish I could but the fans have to be installed on the outside on top, the heatsink takes all the space of the enclosure , I'm out of town working as soon as I get home I will post some pics of the pendant...but I think one fan won't do the job !! The heatsink in the same length of the 20L gallon tank ...thanks Link to comment
xmas_one
That's the wrong part number you are looking for, it's an SCW08C-12. Link to comment
DaveFason
You can use a 05 as well. I run 2x fans and BF mini off one just fine. -Dave Link to comment
jedimasterben
They don't make very many of them and production runs of them are infrequent, thus the long wait and the higher cost. Link to comment

jedimasterben
Also just remembered. TME.eu is another good source for drivers and such. They are in Poland and shipping to the US via I believe UPS is like $10, arrives in around 3 days. They sell LDD for less than $5 each, so if you need a bunch of them, they're a better source than pretty much any US etailer. Link to comment
Elinvader11
Thanks Ben for the input .....I'll check the site out......Well , I will be heading back to work out of town on Sunday....Still waiting on the mini bluefish so the project is on a hold until mini shows up , I did get O2's mini board and that thing is clean !!!!!! Well as for now I'm working on the pendant with the little that i have and need some input on the placing of the fans....Like I mention the heatsink basically takes all the space in the pendant so I have 2 choices ... 1. Either I could take out some fins on the heatsink itself to accommodate the fans and hide them 2. Or just place them on top of the Pendant itself and deal with it I could put them inside pendant and secure them but then the actual heatsink would come out of the pendant and cannot cover light with the sliding glass it came with...One of the pictures show the first groove or canal that the sliding glass goes through..... Here are few pictures of the pendant ..Also any inputs on fans will be great I have 4 1/2 " on top to accommodate fans if i go to the outside option...I have not bought any fans yet so i think O2 told me 3 pin or 4 pin works fine....Thanks Link to comment
Baldguy
I got some SCW's, Ldd's and a power supply from TME. Cheap pricing paid for the shipping which was $9.90 three day shipping from Poland. Very impressed!! Looks like they're out of the SCW's now though. Link to comment
