YellowSno
some background so ive had a 12 long that has been sitting on its stand for about 2 years just waiting to be set up... it was originally a planted tank that started approximately 4 years ago and was running for 2 years till it had to get taken down due to time constraints however time has allowed me to once again start up this 12 long andi was convinced by my friend to get into reefing... so 2 years ago in doing reading around with other peoples set up i came across Scorched and MrReefers awesome tanks and decided that was the route i wanted to go... so ive been slowly collecting all the equipment to needed to run the tank and figuring out what route i wanted to take as well as get advice from both MrReefer and Scorched. so i ended up drilling holes into the tank the same way Scorched did his as well as use the same pump... when set up correctly the tank has great flow and is decently quiet... as for set up im pretty much using Scorched build cept for the lighting which is maxspect razor 15k and im using a tunze 3155 osmolator. Currently i have the tank cycling with pukani rock and sand inside thanks for viewing!! Link to comment
Muraki
Looking good! I also followed along with "Scroched" plumbing style. So far I am extremely happy with it. Keep the posts coming! Sump pictures? Link to comment
YellowSno
I'll take some pictures when I get home I'm still trying to tidy it up... But it's a standard 10 gallons that had glass baffles in it before... I wish it didn't but it does... So I'm trying to make the baffles work for me Link to comment

YellowSno
Nice start! Long tanks are so cool. Thanks and yeah ever since I got the 12 long I'm finding short squat tanks are more enjoyable then the a typical... I had a 55 gallon standard tank a long while back and after having it for 6 months wished I had a 40 breeder instead... Its about time dude! Following along. It's all your fault!! The misses blames u totally!!!? Link to comment
YellowSno
so i got home from work and now took pictures of my sump. I know the baffles are green, that was from when it was fresh water and it was scrubbed and cleaned but seems like that green is in the silicone now... im thinking of just getting another 10 gallon tank because i want a cleaner sump... the blocks are bio pure blocks just to add to the filtration (it broke on me so thats why theres some near the pump). i added a pad in the baffle to stop that water fall sounding affect i was getting for having baffles so the air gets broken up a bit as well as another filter spot. the last set of baffle isnt being used but i still like just incase of power outage that area has enough space so i dont have a flood in my hands thanks to work i was able to grab me a suction container that im gonna use with my auto top off to add water into the sump and last but not least thanks to taking my time with things i have a misbared maroon clown and some corals that have been in quarentine for at least a month now... that i got at the MACNA (im not 100 percent sure of what frags i besides the hammer coral but the the colors they have sold me on them) Link to comment
