Cowrie or limpet experience

First order from reef cleaners was great, only death was a little periwinkle, so now I'm looking into a 2nd order and wanted to get trochus snails but unfortunately he ran out of trochus snails?. So I wanted to hear y'all's experience on reefcleaners ringed cowrie and limpets and if they are a good substitute for the trochus snails.

The keyhole limpets he sells are pretty good. They leave the rock pretty bare, but they don't eat a lot and don't move a lot. Money corwies are cool, but they're really for looks and aren't a great CUC member, they don't eat a lot.

I disagree. My money cowries are little beasts, I love those guys. My trochus snails were DOA, but half of my my cowries all came through fine and went to town on the tank like champs. I wanted to order more in this last order, but I don't do crabs, and I didn't want to pay extra for the express shipping. So, my 4 cowries are all I have, but they are great. (My package got delayed in Tennessee overnight in a snow storm, so I'm sure DOA for trochus and cowries are not the norm). When I explained to John my CUC situation, he suggested cowries and trochus to bulk out the crew and he was right on with cowries. Like I said, my trochus were DOA, so I couldn't tell you if they would have worked well anyways.

This for an 85 gallon tank, so I don't think you'd need as many cowries if your ordering a quick crew as well.

My Arabian Cowrie eats off the rocks and the glass. Plus he's beautiful and fun to look at. As far as limpets, recently some have been coming up from nowhere. They are very tiny and seem to be eating algae. I don't know where they came from but there are a lot of them. I see some on both the rocks and the glass. They look like they are eating algae. They are also on my power heads.

I like my cowries(annulus). So far no problems with corals they just cruise around after lights out eating off the rocks.

I also keep several Banded Trochus. They can right themselves if tipped over and keep my glass spotless. Excellent grazers IMO.

I don't think Tigers are reef safe. They are beautiful though. The little ring cowrie I have never had an issue with at all and have one now in my nano with lots of corals.
